VHS : The Rescuers Down Under (Disney) [1991]
This sequel to the rescuers was something special to disney, as this is the first sequal of feature animation to also become a feature. This is currently the only sequel to date to become a feature; this shows disney had great expectations and faith in this film.

This film has a similar story style to the original film, where a kid gets captured and its up to the rescue aid society to come to the rescue. The character cast in this film is amazing, and the animators do an incredible job at portraying emotion and expression through them.

This film also, as many may not know, include disney first 3d visual effects in 2d animation. There is a flying sequence at the start which is actually 3D which at the time of release was breathtaking, ... Read More:

VHS : Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo [1977]
After seeing Herbie Fully Loaded at the cinema, our young daughters (4 & 6 years) wanted to see the others when they realised there were more. We bought the complete series from Amazon (just waiting for Fully Loaded to come out!). They are good entertainment and very good value for our girls although their favourite is the latest. Well, what would you expect with all the great effects?!

VHS : The Bounty [1984]
This is one of the most enjoyable films I have seen in years. Tha acting is brilliant throughout; the plot is gripping; the scenery is breathtaking and the music is unintrusive and subtle.

There are some great ideas explored in the plot about slef-discipline and long term planning verses giving in to the pleasure of the moment.

But most enjoyable for me were the performances, particularly of Anthony Hopkins as Captain Bligh. All the characters have depth and are completely believable: there are no goodies and baddies, just thoroughly tested people whose motives we can understand.
