This is one of my favourite movies. Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly, where can you go wrong? Frank is adorable in this movie and Gene is, how shall I say, hot! It has excellent songs in it, my fav being 'Modern man'. It's no Singing in the rain, but definatley worth an oggle.

All three films are fantastic. On the Town was the first Hollywood film to be filmed on location. The whole film is really a tribute to New York, starting with a view of the Manhattan skyline and including a wonderful scene on the top of the Empire State Building. It's full of energy and fun: "three smart gals and three slick fellas" meeting up and seeing the sights by day and night. It's full of brilliant songs (some by Leonard Bernstein) and the dance routines are the reason I now go to a dance class every week. Anchors Aweigh is also about sailors on leave.
