VHS : Batman [1989]
Batman has always been a vastly over-rated movie and I find it difficult to understand how it garnered such positive reviews on it's release . Having watched this recently on TV it seems like a good time to look again at this disappointing film.
It has many flaws but chief among these is the casting of 80's "it girl" Kim Basinger. She almost single handedly ruins this film with her unbelievably poor performance, coming across like some am dram second rater. Michael Keaton does some of his best work but is scuppered in the Batman role by a Batsuit which allows extremely limited movement of body and none of neck whatsoever. He walks around like he has a washboard stuck up his back, completely not his fault I understand. Jack Nicholson's Joker ... Read More:

VHS : Nighthawks [1981]
One of my fave films of the early eighties,I Recently decided
to buy the dvd only to find that the two disco songs,One being
Brown sugar by the rolling stones and i don,t know the name of
the other one,But it was good anyway!are missing from the dvd!,
They have been replaced by two not(in my opinion)as good songs!,
It kinda ruined it for me a bit!,As i had watched this film a
fair few times on vhs in its original format!.
Surely someone else has noticed this!!
If watched for the first time on dvd you won,t notice the
difference! But believe me if you watch an old vhs of the film
you will definetly notice the difference!!
This is why i am giving four stars instead of five!

VHS : The Empire Strikes Back - Special Edition [1980]
The 1980 film, in its original release, remains truly outstanding and worthy of Distinction. It is a classic, as recognised by the American Film Registry. There is much beauty in each cinematic shot, and excellent characterisation and acting.

The Limited Edition DVD is out for a 'limited time only'. This DVD contains two discs: the main feature being the original 1980 version -much anticipated, and a 'digitally remastered movie'- in which many areas of the film are digitally remodified, recreated, re-rendered, extended, and even overembellished, all for various reasons - all the details of which have been much commented on elsewhere on the internet.

10.Oceans of Fire (1986) starring: Gregory Harrison, Billy Dee Williams, Ken Norton, David Carradine
