Wrestlemania VIII saw the passing of the torch from the old guard to the new breed with the younger guys getting the job done. This event is notable for two classic matches. Firstly, the Bret Hart vs Piper IC title match was very well worked. Bret took a kicking and the two traded technique and brawling very smoothly. It was clear that these two knew each other well and the chemistry was great. Bret really got over after this match. The second was between two of the greats, Flair vs Savage. They didn't have much time to prepare a story but if Flair and Savage can't put on a good match together then nobody can. A rarely mentioned, often forgotten 5 star match. Thrilling encounters all the way! HHH giving one of the biggest names in history everything he had and not coming close! The Warrior then squashed him in seconds! Piper had had enough and was in high speeed persuit of the golden one, chasing him down in an alley and finnishing it in the ring, lots of surprizes and very entertaining! The iron man match between Shawn and Bret was exciting all the way! with Shawns dramatic entrence, the high risk and old school wrestling at its best, they wrestled there guts out and put together 1 of the greatest matches in wwe history!

I just recieved this video tape today and the reason i ordered it was because for the past 12 or 13 years i have been watching wrestling i had never seen this one, the big one. Hogan and Andre! Steamboat and Macho man!! i was missing myself here, depriving myself. well i finally purchased it and am glad to say it was worth the money (and the wait!!) if you havent seen this one you must track it down, its a must have. Macho man and Steamboat is a classic! Buy this NOW!

This is one of the more entertaining, and sleaze free WWF events. The whole card is filled with matches that are solid and entertaining. The highlights are, Bret Hart v/s Shawn Michaels main event, but also the tag team match of Flair and Ramon v/s Savage and Perfect. It was good to see perfect back in action. Overall, a great wwf event, that puts some of their recent ones to shame.

I think this is one of the worst wwf(e) ppvs of all time. WWF's december ppvs were always lame in this period as they came at a time when they wanted to save matches for royal rumble and wrestlemania rather than blow off old feud ala the present day. We start with flash funk and al snow in a poor match these guys were both jobbers. The announcers tried to put over flash as a face but with 1997 approaching that wasn't about to happen. The tag champs davey boy smith and owen hart defended against fake razor and fake diesel in a bout designed to capitalise on the outsiders popularity. Not by you know emulating it with bulldog and owen who were an entertaining tweener tag team but just by copying it. This killed the match straight off. Dissension in the ranks begins but its ... Starrcade 1999 has to be by far one of the best pay per view events I have seen. There are so many matches that you are just spoilt for choice. The matches include Goldberg vs bret hart, dustin rhodes vs jeff jarret, jeff jarret vs the crippler chris benoit and many more. This will keep any WCW fan happy.
