VHS : The History Of The British Police Force
This comprehensive insight into the history of the British Police Force provides one of the most detailed presentations of one of the world's most highly regarded police services. From the day of the Bow Street Runners to the general unrest of the 1980's and 1990's terrorism, all events are documented excellently. This must rank highly on any serving officer's list, and also on those of anybody with an interest in the history of this fascinating field. A splendid documentary.

Well, having seen this particular play at home especially made for TV, I had expected it to be fairly poor. Surprisingly enough, all actors young and new prove to convey a brilliant interpretation of Shakespeare's existentialist-before-time play on human existence!
Had kept a VHS copy when it was broadcast around 1988 here in Portugal, but now I have this chance of getting it on DVD. Too bad about the absence of subtitles, but then again, with such vivid metaphors as those of The Bard, perhaps it is just a perfect invitation to grab the play on paper and have a look at it once in a while...!

VHS : Shakespeare - The Animated Tales - Macbeth [1992]
This may be a cartoon, but it's not for children exclusively. Contrary to what you may expect, this one doesn't totally dilute the violence or substitute Shakespeare's language for a simple-to-understand dialect; there are a few gory bits (although they are obviously no way near as shocking as some of the scenes featured in other adaptations, such as Roman Polanski's film) and the dialogue isn't changed, letting some of the most memorable, disturbing lines keep their edge.

This animation is about half an hour long, and that comes as a slight disappointment: quite a few chunks that the adults will remember have been cut down significantly or have gone completely. For example, the viewer isn't really shown Macbeth's real motives for the murders, ... Read More:

VHS : Kiss The Girls [1998]
I enjoyed this film and all the actors did a good job but it didnt live up to my expectations after reading the book. The book is so suspenseful and the movie wasnt. I didnt feel the movie really captured casonova and though the film is an 18 im not sure why as they kept it quite clean and glossed over his vile acts.
Gary Ewles was gorgeous and great as always.

Mark Walhberg plays Danny Wallace the newly assigned, and only non-Chinese cop in New York's Chinatown district. Greeted with dislike and distrust, Wallace has to slowly win over the respect of his team members before finally being acknowledged as a "partner" by his boss, Detective Nick Chen. This finally happens after he saves his life at the end of an epic and bloody car chase.

Caught in a feud between warring Triad gangs, Wallace finds himself unwittingly indebted to one of the charming, but manipulative gang captains, himself with designs on the gang leader's job. He soon discovers he is not the only one on the payroll but the FBI are closing in on all of them and their actions become increasingly desperate.

A good film, violent ... Read More:

VHS : Super Troopers [2002]
This one is from the Broken Lizard comedy team and concerns a bunch of highway patrol officers who are more intent on larking about than doing any actual police work. They may be good at playing the `Meow' game, but their ineptitude means their department is about to be closed down, and the only hope of survival lies in solving a case of drug smuggling and murder. Can they stop covering each other in shaving foam long enough to get the job done?

Super Troopers is the third full-fledged Broken Lizard film I've seen (I'm not counting the dire Dukes Of Hazzard), and this is about as funny as the other two (Club Dread and Beerfest). It's pretty low-brow stuff, but I'm not ashamed to say I like that kind of thing, and this one kept me laughing throughout. Also, ... Read More:

VHS : Young Sherlock Holmes And The Pyramid Of Fear [1986]
I first saw this amazing film at the cinema when it was first aired. This film turned me into Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's biggest fan. He might not have written this film version story, but I think he would be quite proud of this tale of mystery. Nicholas Rowe is a very talented actor and is perfect playing Holmes. I heard somewhere, that he is going to play Sherlock Holmes once again in a new tale sometime soon. Everyone in this production shines. You will not be disappointed by the cast and the story. You sort of get a glimpse of why Sherlock never married. If you love mysteries, then this is for you.

VHS : Troy
I'm sick of people constantly talking about how "Troy" should have been called "Achilles". This is ridiculous, first off the whole point of the Iliad was to glorify Achilles, so if you have a problem with the story focusing on Achilles you don't know squat. In my opinion as a teenager I thought the movie was excellent, I know it didn't stick to the Iliad but besides that it was a great production. Brad Pitt did an excellent job in portraying Achilles he was a stern, fierce warrior who gloried in being the best fighter on Earth. I know the History buffs are dissapointed about the films innaccuracy to the Iliad but who cares this truely was a great film and deserves applaud. From the hatred between Achilles and Agamemmnon to the insane fight scenes this was with out a doubt one ... Read More:
