VHS : The Jungle Book (Disney) (1967) [1968]
In one of Walt Disney's classics, Bagheera the panther offers to take Mowgli, a young boy, to the man village before the evil tiger Shere Khan gets to him.

This family adventure is a classic, made so by a beautiful sentimental plot about human emotions, including loyalty, sensitivity and most importantly love. And these human emotions are decoded through the animals of the jungle.

With the enchanting and fun loving actions of Baloo the bear and the honest and hard actions of Bagheera, do audiences get that true feel of the human spirit, and the facts of life, to have fun, but to face the truth as well, which is also reflected in some of the most catchy and enjoyable songs ever created for a Disney picture.

This is a good film but if you have read the book it will come as a dissapointment. It is a heart warming story of love and loss and has a happy ending! I felt when I watched it that it had left alot of the emotional intensity of the book out of it and although it was well acted I felt that the characters could have been stronger. I think that this would be a good film to watch if you haven't already read the book! It is an emotional story that is bound to make you cry. It shows how one decision or event can change a person's life forever, how different environments can make people so the same become so very different, how they have different values and how the cope with situations differently. I think that this is a good film that is based on a brilliant ... Read More:

I'd just charged headfirst into the world of Re-Animator, seeing this sequel only days after seeing the original. I remember getting home, watching it and thinking it quite an average film. I agree, it's the worst of the three and after a few hours thinking about it, I truly hated this film, it was boring, it had it's points - I'll give you that, but it was truly boring in some parts.

Months passed and one day I woke up and doubled over. My arms stretched across the floor, my voice gasping and I realised I wanted to see this film once more. Something had overcome me. Suddenly, the fantasy-type elements I originally hated were now mutual friends with me.

Since that day, I haven't watched the film again (I originally leant it off a good ... Read More:

Say hello to HERBERT WEST, re-animator of dead, previously living, tissue. He's a doctor. He's also certifiable...but don't worry, the day-glo green liquid in his syringe is completely harmless. Unless you're a corpse.

Now say hello to the REGION 1 MILLENNIUM EDITION of RE-ANIMATOR. This wildly funny and extremely gory film - a classic example of comedy and horror combining to shred the usual expectations - still does the business today, thrusting us headlong into altogether crazier dimensions a mere 22 years(!) after it first eviscerated onto our cinema screens. A remarkable achievement by any standards.

I just love the 'teaser' (pre-titles sequence) and the animated titles with their wonderful orchestral nod to Hitchcock's PSYCHO and, yes, the remaining ... Read More:
