I was very fortunate in being able to view "Out on a Limb" whilst visiting Germany earlier this year, on a spiritual visit to see Mother Meera. I found the story absolutely amazing and it gives an insight into things we don't understand and which a lot of people refus to accept. You need an open mind to view this film.

Have to agree with the other reviewer. This film is unpretentious, easy going and not too complicated for the hard of head (a moi). Even though you get the feeling it's missing a bit of a middle, it doesn't really seem to matter (unlike something like MIB which was rendered terrible because of this). I can unashamedly say I love feelgood films that can produce a tear .. and this is one .. Well done .. mr Director.

VHS : White Mischief [1987]
Having known a lady who was in Kenya from 1943 (3 years after the events on which this film is based) and having an English wife born in British East Africa a dozen years later, White Mischief was of huge interest to me quite apart from its intrinsic merit.

Jock Delves-Broughton (Joss Ackland) is in financial trouble and has left 1940 England with creditors pressing (not surprising: he spent up to £120,000 annually, equivalent to perhaps £5 million or even £10 million today!). He buys a place near Nairobi and settles with his much younger and very beautiful (especially but not only when unclothed) wife Diana (Greta Scacchi). She has been "bought" by him in return for an allowance of £80,000 annually, for 7 years. She, however, falls ... Read More:

VHS : Rebecca [1997]
Rebecca, based on the novel written by Daphne Du Maurier, has been adapted many times, and here we are referring to the version directed by Jim O' Brien, starring Charles Dance and Emilia Fox. For those of you who saw the version with Lawrence Olivier, this one is a real improvment, as we may actually emphatize with Dance's character. Shot in Cornwall, the movie is a mixed blend of astonishing beauty and dreadful memories that seem to have taken the best of Maxim De Winter. Just recovering (in a tentative manner, to tell the truth) from the recent passing of his first wife, De Winter set out to Monte Carlo, in an attempt to washed away his previous life with the first Mrs De Winter. There, he met the soon-to-be second Mrs de Winter, played by Emilia Fox who ... Read More:

VHS : Ali G - Indahouse - The Movie [2002]
It's funny (not the film), but I remember Ali G being funnier than this film. I used to catch his television show occasionally and I thought that his pranks with (usually elderly) minor celebrities and politicians were funny. Short bursts of this character are funny. He should have remained just one character in a sketch show.

The trouble with this film is that (a) it's long and (b) there are no 'real' unsuspecting people pulled into his act. The beginning is too weird, the middle is a bit boring (I left the room a few times without pressing pause), but it does pick up a little at the end when things start to happen.

I also did wonder that this only has a 15 certificate given its lewd nature. I only mean compared to other films' certificates. Of ... Read More:
