VHS : Amadeus [1985]
Sumptuously filmed in beautiful colours, and with a Dolby sound track that will have your upstairs neighbours hammering in rage on your ceiling with their walking sticks, this film presents a largely fictional account of Mozart's last years, and quite libellously portrays Antonio Salieri as Mozart's murderer. It's all about envy, God and getting your just deserts, according to one Amazon reviewer, and I suppose that according to this school of thought, the fact that it's a seriously inaccurate reconstruction of the past is besides the point. Mozart emerges as a highly precocious and slightly nauseating American kid with an irritating high-pitched laugh, brilliant at wowing the Viennese public, upper and working class alike, with colourful theatricals. ... VHS : Mac And Me [1988]
Me and my sister used to watch this film over and over in the 80's. I have just come across this on Amazon and have to order it. The story is good. If I remember rightly, the young boy in it is different as he is in a wheelchair and is quite lonely as he and his family have just moved into a new neighbourhood. He befriends a cute girl and of course Mac the Alien. Mac gets seperated from his family and finds himself with the boy. The part I remember is when the cute girl is attached to a hoover and it goes up the wall. That was funny! There is a element of sadness to this film but isn't depressing at all.I would recommend this film for the great nostalgia and fun for kids.

I am totally disappointed, I saw the film first on VHS a good few years back and some of the scenes(the hot scenes)were cut in this DVD. This is the same letdown version I saw on television...what's the story here? If I wanted a censored version I could have seen it on tele....terrible waste!

VHS : Double Platinum [1999]
I do love Diana Ross and , unlike most singing stars , she can actualy act .Her own rigid criteria and being black and beautiful has limited her acting career . As a fan therefore it is always a great treat to see her on film . Having said that , this film is really girlie and corny in parts . Harvey Firstein is an embarrassment and , knowing Diana's music so well , the music could have been so much better . That pink gown is so silly .Despite the film's flaws she still looks incredibly beautiful so it's worth every penny .If you want great acting from a serious Diana Ross get Out of Darkness .

6.Acceptable Risks starring: Brian Dennehy, Kenneth McMillan, Christine Ebersole, Beah Richards, Richard Gilliland

VHS : My Favorite Martian [1999]
Usually with a remake you either loose some of the original zing or regardless of how good it is just not the same (nostalgia factor). Well this time you are in for a treat. The original was improved on and it is a positive exaggeration of the TV program. I am not sure that a talking suit really adds to the movie. However it does not distract.

All the original characters are in the movie and some added characters to round it off. I appreciated the method used buy Coleye (Wallace Shawn) to test for alien residue. By the way if his first name was Ernest, he could be "E. Coleye." Jeff Daniels made a believable Tim O'Hara. And it was a nice touch to put the late Ray Walston (the original Martian) in this picture as the investigator.

Well Tom Selleck and comedy should be enough after his comedy double 'Three Men...'. This also has Don Ameche who steals the show playing a father with a health condition which starts to change Jon's life (Tom Selleck). When you see how perfect Jon's life is at the start to how the poor guy is at the end you wonder what has he got to smile about? To be trueful, I've watched this now over 9 nine times that's when I had it on VHS then on DVD. It is one of those comedies you can't get tired of watching. If other peoples misfortunes often make you laugh. THEN... your not only sick like me but this comedy is for you.
