VHS : Doctor Who The Face of Evil [1963]
1: Tom Baker is excellent as the deranged Xoanon

2: Louise makes a brilliant entrance as Leela

3: The horda are cute.

4: The tesh are gits, but likeable ones, with their arm flapping!

5: Tom is great as ever as the Doc too.

6: The tribe have more developed characters than usual.

7: Great comic moments, especially how Leela runs into the TARDIS despite the Doc not really wanting to take her.

9: the staue looks impressive.

10: Good actual 25 min eps for a change!

VHS : The Swimmer [1968]
Almost any film Burt Lancaster is in usually gets my attention & The Swimmer is no exception, in fact I think it was one of his more complicated roles, one which was tailor made for Burt. Hard to believe Burt was 55, My God he had the body of an athletic 33 old, great shape almost as good as his acting ability. From what I read he actually could not swim prior to doing this film & never liked getting into the water!
I have watched tis film many times now & each time I see another glimpse of the brilliance that was & is Burt Lancaster. A tormented & lost soul is seen in this most unique of films , where Ned Merrill suffers the illusion of "normality & a secure Family Life" only those around him know better, what attracts ... VHS : George And Mildred [1981]
I had completely forgot about george & Mildred and how funny brian murphy was in it.
I decided to buy this cos im collecting all the classic British sitcom movie spin offs of the 70s just for nostalga .
Lets face it todays TV is pure crap.
It was so good to see the genius of yootha joyce & Brian murphy again after all these years.
George had allways made me laugh my head off when i was a young kid .
The things he will do to avoid spending money or avoid the sexual advances from his wife are hillarious.
Its funny to think that the little kid that played tristam must be what late 30s early 40s Amazing.
Good to see keneth cope who played in randall & hopkirk as well.
What can i say they just dont make them ... Read More:
