VHS : Father Of The Bride [1992]
I really can't say enough good things about this film, it's definately one of my all time favourites. Steve Martin plays a great role as George Banks, but the star of the film is without a doubt Martin Short who plays the wedding planner, Frank. The accent cracks me up every time I hear it. This film really is, in my eyes, completely faultless. The funny parts had me laughing out loud, and other parts had me in tears. I think what I love most about this film, is that whilst it has the great comedy element, it still manages to be very believable. I think a lot of fathers with married daughters could watch this and sympathise! Brilliant film, I'd recommend it to anyone!

VHS : The Godfather - Part II [1975]
A masterpiece of a film. An Outstanding cast. A GREAT STORY.

A young Robert de Niro, who looks so gorgeous in the film, shows us early in his career, why he is still one of the greatest actors in the world.

Of course the true star of the film (apart from Brando) is the truly amazing Al Pacino. The sexiest Mafia Boss Ever!!!

Al Pacino owns this role. No one could have played it better. Once you watch them....You will never forget the Godfather films. They are unforgettable.

I love the way the film goes back in time and shows us the roots of The Godfather's life. The scene where it cuts back into the present, and Al Pacino is on the train, is superbly directed.

This film has some ... Read More:

VHS : Play It Again Sam [1972]
It has almost been forgotten that this film was not directed by Woody Allen - but this makes no difference it is still one of his greatest films.
We start the film with Allan Felix (Allen) watching Casablanca in the Cinema and feebly impersonating Bogart as he leaves the Cinema. The film proceeds with an imaginary Bogart advising Allan on how to deal with Women. Allan as you would expect is pretty hopeless!
This film is consistently funny with the blind date scene being one of the greatest comedy scenes ever filmed.
The script (based on Woody Allens own stage play) is full of great dialog, as you would expect.
Diane Keaton is wonderful in her role, and Tony Roberts is very funny in his supporting role as the business man who leaves a ... Read More:

If you liked the other two films then you will love this, personally i think it is the best with all of the actors portraying a convincing plot. The storyline is great and believable you can guess the ending but at some times you wonder what is going to happen next, a real cliffhanger.
This is a must see film for adults and children if you want to laugh and enjoy yourself and at the price amazon are selling it at buy it now!

VHS : The Godfather Trilogy [1972]
I first saw these films when they were aired on channel 5 a while ago but only saw about half of the first film, all of the second and none of the the third one. So the incentive was there to buy them, after what i had seen of them i thought it would make a great addition to my dvds. I wasnt wrong either. Though to be honest i couldnt see some of my friends either watching them or buying them, as these films aren't mindless action and explosion fests. They take time to watch, literally and mentally. If you really want to get the best from them, set aside a night where you can watch them in peace to soak up the class of them directing, script, acting and story. They are completely different to the more modern gangster/mafia films. The time is taken for you to get ... Read More:

VHS : Marvin's Room [1997]
This is a play whose script immediately presents a challenge - it is poorly written. However, despite the best attempts of the film's director (with fainting goofy scenes!), Diane Keaton is stunning as Bessy. She maintains a wonderful sense of the character's integrity and dignity throughout and for once, steals the show from Meryl Streep. It is wonderful to see Keaton back in a more serious role that show cases her true acting talent and Streep too delivers a performance which evokes huge symapthy for her otherwise unloveable beautician character. This film has some of the biggest names in the business and that is essentially why it works - but Leanardo diCaprio's performance does let the side down with an annoyingly melancholy aura to his performance that cries out for him to grow ... I have always liked this film, I cannot really say why. Probably because it's the ultimate feel good film with a happy ending. Just the right thing to watch when you want to be cheered up without having to think too much.
It's funny, maybe a bit cheesy and predictable in places but I know, I will watch it again and again. Luckily the eighties outfits are not too over the top, for me this film still watchable nowadays.
I have to agree with a previous review though, the dvd is really cheaply done, it looks as if it was made in the eighties as well!
