I recently watched this film on tv having never even heard of it, so this was my first time, I was in tears, my nerves were fraying, my fingers were crossed, and I absolutely fell in love with it's story...It's a real tearjerker of a film...and I would recommend this film anytime anywhere...

How they managed to train the bear to do the stunts...It's JUST FABULOUS!!

BUY IT...YOU'LL LOVE IT...

VHS : Watchers [1988]
Having just read the book of the same name by Dean Koontz, I ordered the film and was looking forward to watching the movie. But I couldn't believe how many details from the book were changed!
Now, I know that directors can use creative licence with stories they adapt from books and I did expect some changes. I was prepared for some scenes to be omitted entirely. But for the main character to be changed from a mature man who is ex Special Forces to be changed to a high school kid! And for his wife Nora in the book to become his MOTHER in the film????
WHY? Also two characters in the book who were basically good, ie Lem and the vet became totally different. For instance Lem in the movie becomes a psychopath!
Maybe if I hadn't read ... Read More:

VHS : The Exorcism of Emily Rose [2005]
"The Exorcism of Emily Rose" is based on a true story, which would be the exorcism and death of in 1976 of Anneliese Michel, a young German girl. The "Klingenberg Case" unfolded in the wake of the release of William Friedkin's "The Exorcist" and two years later prosecutors brought Anneliese's parents and the two exorcists to trial on charges of negligent homicides. What Scott Derrickson takes from that true story are not so much the details of the young woman's possession and the attempted exorcism, but the drama of a trial in which the state seeks to convict a priest for believing in faith rather than facts. Consequentially, this 2005 is a rather unique blend of a trial film with a horror movie, and with regards to ... Read More:

VHS : The Jack Bull [1999]
Why it never played on the big screen is a mystery to me. It certainly rivals any western to have come out of Hollywood in quite some time although without the graphic violence, sex and profanity. True, there are some scenes laced with profanity but these are few and far between. The violence is under-stated and restrained.

The film's title refers to the Jack Russell breed of terrier which is said to never let go once it latches on. Myrl Redding is like the Jack Russell in his tenacity. It is justice he wants and justice he will have, even if it means the loss of everything he holds dear.

His resolve will be sorely tested as he launches a very personal vendetta against rural Wyoming bully, Henry Ballard, masterfully played ... Read More:
