Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - intense...
If you are like "a viewer", the anonymous reviewer above who watches films without an ounce of interest in trying to find the bigger picture, then this film is not for you.

One of Cillian Murphy's earlier films, you can see why Hollywood beckoned for him - he portrays "Pig" perfectly, an angst-ridden, violent, obsessed, confused teenager, while his love "Runt" ultimately holds the key to Pig's happiness, and more importantly, his life path.

I did find Cillian's accent harder to understand than Elaine's but I could basically work out what he was saying much of the time.

This film is sad, moving and intense, yet you want to keep on watching.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A play on film
I bought this film after reading several reviews and thought it a pity that I hadn't seen the theatre production; however, I wasn't disappointed with my purchase. There is some very good acting and the story really draws you in. There are moments when you think you could be watching a theatre performance rather than a film but again this should not put you off. It has typical moments of happiness and in some cases extreme sadness and it will affect you more than you think. Very good.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Dreadful film - Really Bad - pointless!!!!!!!!!
After reading the reviews on this film as I do like something a bit on the different side, thought yes, what a good write up, so bought it,will be perfectly honest it was one of the worst films I have ever seen. It lacked everything- it was basically about boy & girl whom were born exactly the same day same time same place and well couldnt live without each other, within the film a piece of poetry was thrown in along with a violent sceen which was pointless just mindless meant nothing - in the end I couldnt even bothered to watch the end - pure rubbish, turned if off and was so tempted to throw it in the bin. If you are the type of person who likes the plot like The usual suspects and the wit of withnail&i then you have the intelligance ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Disco Pigs
This film shatters any hope you have of "entertaining family viewing time" - it is breath takingly real and gobsmackingly shocking. It grabs you by the throat and forces you to rip open the brains of the two main characters Pig and Runt and, yet, even when you've travelled so deeply into their minds you STILL dont understand what theyre thinking.
An absolutely fascinating film that HAS to be watched - it shows a side of humankind that scares, fascinates and disturbs. There could be no better acting from the two main characters.
I sincerely reccommend it with every ounce of my being.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not just another Teen Movie...
'Disco Pigs', based on the stage play by Enda Walsh is the story of the intense and lifelong friendship between two teenagers in Ireland, which manages at once to be hauntingly beautiful and decidedly unnerving when everything starts to unbalance.

'Pig' (Cillian Murphy) and 'Runt' (Elaine Cassidy)can be equated to the likes of Kate Winslet and Melanie Lynskey in 'Heavenly Creatures' or Alicia Witt and Renée Humphrey in 'Fun' - the two have been friends since birth and are happy to inhabit their own imagined world exclusive of other people. The onslaught of pubescence, however, puts paid to the delicate balance of the friendship, as Pig's possessiveness of "his" girl and Runt's curiosity about other boys begin to ruin everything.
