It was the first film directed by Mike Nichols, and starred Elizabeth Taylor as Martha and Richard Burton as George, with George Segal as Nick and Sandy Dennis as Honey. The film version differs slightly from the play. The play features only four characters, while in the film there are two other minor characters

George, a disillusioned academic, and Martha, his caustic wife, have just come home from a faculty party. When a handsome young professor and his mousy wife stop by for a nightcap, an innocent night of fun and games quickly turns dark and dangerous. A soppy wonderful romantic story, this is one of my treasured dvds that i play lots. I'm a fan of Streisand and Bridges anyway. Separately they make good films, and paring them together in this film was genius.

If you liked the other two films then you will love this, personally i think it is the best with all of the actors portraying a convincing plot. The storyline is great and believable you can guess the ending but at some times you wonder what is going to happen next, a real cliffhanger.

VHS : The Terminal Man [1974]
This, in the exact words of the man who wrote the source novel for this movie, is a wasted opportunity.

The subject matter is not a problem - it was science fact when ther movie was made, and could well be commonplace today. The writing is not a problem, though Mike Hodges has done better (check out Damien: Omen II or the original Get Carter for proof). The acting isn't a huge problem (though everyone manages to get through the movie looking like they are bored to tears with it). Even the directing is not a big problem (though, again, Hodges has done better).

Nope - all present and correct. The main fault for this being a monumental failure MUST lie with the late Mr Robert Wolfe - Editor. The pace of this movie is it's own death - and to ... Read More:

VHS : Rollercoaster [1977]

Fabulous classic disaster movie from the 70s starring George Segal.

A clever young man using electronics and technology holds Amusement Parks to ransom by sabotage of their biggest and most exciting rides - namely the 'Rollercoaster'.

This is a truly absorbing and exciting movie full of suspense, and having now watched this half a dozen times over the last thirty years, still manages to hold my attention! May appear a little over-long to some, but the first fifteen minutes are riveting and straight into the action! Timothy Bottoms is superb as the 'young man', and for some reason in this the 'ordinary' folk at the Amusement Parks seem to grab the attention - a style sadly lacking in modern movie-making.

VHS : Dumb And Dumber / The Cable Guy [1996]
One of my favorite types of film is Comedy. Dumb & Dumber is not just a comdy film which you find funny and might consider buying after seeing it on the cinema. You will cry with laughter, and each time you see it, you will find yourself enjoying it even more. You will find yourself repeating some of the phrases such as 'Your it' and sending someone a 'John-dear letter'. I've found this movie so funny, absolutely brilliant is the main analysis I can give this movie. Jim carrey and Jeff Daniels work so well together, I often find myself wanting to throw spilt salt (and the shaker) over my right shoulder, but hold off. One of the funniest things about this movie is how everything falls into place and Harry & Lloyd are know as 'Professionals'.

VHS : The Cable Guy [1996]
This film is another example of the so called critics and professional film reviewers getting it so wrong by completely discrediting the merits of a truely impressive film. True, the film is darker, the humour is more subdued and harder to spot but that is what helps make this movie a great film. So it flopped at the cinema ... who cares!! So it got rubbished by the critics ... well if Ive learned anything; I leaned not to listen to critics. Always judge a movie yourself, dont listen to some pretentious critic who doesnt know his arse from his elbow.

In my opinion this is Carrey's best movie to date.
