VHS : Thoroughly Modern Millie [1967]
I had last seen this film as a young girl, and after watching an am dram production in winchester recentley decided to give it another go. I'm amazed at how "modern" and relevant this film is. Milie is smart and surprisingly clued up for a girl new to the city. White slavery is a weird concept for a musical but it works brilliantly and gives it an edge to go along with the fast paced plot line and toe tapping songs, A perfect film to buy your mum for mothers day and watch it together.

VHS : Hostile Hostages [1994]
Barely escaping from his botched burglary of a fancy house, Gus (played by Denis Leary) quickly finds a place to hideout from the police. Kidnapping the Chasseurs (Judy Davis & Kevin Spacey) at gunpoint, he starts making plans. But, this is no quiet haven for Gus, the Chasseurs are on the brink of divorce and are at each other's throats, and Gus quickly finds himself playing referee. Can Gus find away to escape the police dragnet and get cleanly away? Or, will the Chasseurs drive him totally insane! [Color, released in 1994, with a running time of 1:33.]

Overall, I found this a very funny movie. Judy Davis and Kevin Spacey bounce off each other hilariously, and I loved seeing Glynis Johns again (she still has it!). Now, while there is no sex ... Read More:

VHS : Welcome To The Dollhouse [1995]
I came across this film years ago by accident and its a complete gem, hilariously funny. Everyone I know who's watched it also loved it, it's one of those films you and your buddies find yourselves reciting the lines to, it's full of unforgetful quotes such as "you think your hot s**t but your really just cold diarrhea" You do feel for Dawn aka weinerdog but she's just so funny you forget about it

If your in the mood for something a little different I say give it a wee whirl

VHS : The Harder They Fall [1956]
This 1956 picture was screen legend Humprhey Bogart's last. Playing a sports journalist Bogart watches the rise and fall of a boxfigther used by unscrepoulous managers and promoters.
Humphrey Bogart plays a great caracther in this picture, very much in the mold of his famous screen persona, but this time with a gentelness that was not always so obvious in other pictures.
Filmed in widescreen with b/w photography, the dvd presents a good copy of the film with lots of subtitles.

8.HERBIE HANCOCK AND THE ROCKIT BAND starring: Herbie Hancock
