VHS : The Night Is Young [1986]
Unbeliveably good, the power of emotion expressed by Lavant is superb, along with his supporting Femmes, its a bone of contention whether this was filmed (not released) before or after hiv/aids came into the public eye, look for the scene on the Metro, so typically french. In short get Your mates round after a stressful week, put it on, you'll either melt in to each other, or row until the wee hours

VHS : Murders In The Rue Morgue [1932]
this is a good horror film and it shows bela lugosi at his best, but there is something rather sordid about the whole thing; the murder scene and lugosi conducting his experiments justify the video's "12" certificate.
i'm not sure if this version is the uncut one as some film books state the running time as 75 minutes.
the film sets are very imaginative, as they convey the story well.
