VHS : Inspector Morse - Masonic Mysteries - Series 4 - Episode 4 [1987]
This is my personal favourite Inspector Morse epidsode for three reasons: 1) Morse himself is stripped of all that he knows and trusts in an orginial, brilliant plot 2) The links to freemasonry and Mozart's Magic Flute enrich and add humour and 3) The confrontational, disorientating climax gets me every time.

Inspector Morse has excelled itself here. The curmudgeonly, lonely, vulnerable protagonist reveals all his facets in this brilliantly executed episode that has never been bettered. VHS : Inspector Morse - Twilight Of The Gods - Series 7 - Episode 3 [1987]
As usual with Inspector Morse, it's an enjoyable story. Strong performances by regulars John Thaw and Kevin Whately of course, but this is really brought to life by guest actors Robert Hardy and the late John Gielgud. If you're a fan of other Morse stories but you haven't seen this, you won't be disappointed.
