VHS : The Living Daylights [1987]
While many will debate and argue over Timothy Dalton for years to come, in much the same way as over George Lazenby, I going to put my foot out and say Dalton is one of my favorite Bond's, along with Brosnan and Connery. There never really has been a bad Bond actor, but Dalton, I believe is up there with Connery and Pierce and I love The Living Daylights. Dalton was my first 'new' Bond in many ways. I was four when this film was released, and was developing a love for the Bond movies at the time. I had grown up watching the Moore and Connery movies on television and Dalton was the first new actor in the role that I seen, which is why I have special affection for this Bond movie. I love it. Not only do we have a great Bond movie, but it is also ... Read More:

VHS : GoldenEye [1995]
I didn't think the humour in Goldeneye was that good and some of the characters were uninteresting to say the least. This is a bond film about computers and space technology and as with moonraker ( a roger moore bond film) the story didn't appeal to someone like me who prefers films with their feet closer to the ground. If you are a sean bean fan then this film is worth buying to see him put in a good performance as the bad guy but buy the World is Not Enough instead if you are a Pierce Brosnan fan and want to see him at his best.

VHS : Tomorrow Never Dies [1997]
After the brilliant re-start which was Goldeneye, Brosnan and the team at EON, managed something of a first for the genre with TND. Fans would never again be able to defend the low points of the series with the truism that 'even the bad ones are good', because this film (which wouldn't be lonely for long)was not just a bad James Bond film, it was was a hands down, bona fide turkey. The only thing it now has going for it is the fact that, following the release of Die Another Day, it is redeemed as only the 2nd worst James Bond film of all time...a lucky break which neither it, nor the paying public deserved...and don't even get me started on Sheryl Crow's theme tune.

VHS : The Natural [1984]
A true masterpiece of simplicity. Like the paper-clip, a Jackson Pollock or the unfortunate 9/11 attacks. Their ridiculous simplicity is what elates and devastates with such extra vigour. The more base the premise, the harder the impact. Any complexity would be to confuse what is essentially happening here, the unearthing of an oft hidden raw human emotion. An emotion far to complex to convey in words but as rewarding as watching this great cast act out this simple story.
If you ever forget what it is in life that you're after or how to go about it, whether it is love, success, or just basic happiness, this film reminds and installs in us how to maybe, just maybe go about it. A very rare feat for a story based around what for me, and for most internationally I'm sure, is a completely banal and redundant subject ... Read More:

VHS : The Distinguished Gentleman [1992]
Distinguished Gentleman is a film comparable to tading places but without the corny ending. This film showsa up U.S politics in a startling way. The serious message of the film is greatly set aside with a lot of humur arising from Murphy. A nice movie.

VHS : Cape Fear [1992]
J. Lee Thompson's 1962 version of Cape Fear may not be a masterpiece, but in everyway it's a superior thriller to Martin Scorsese's horribly misjudged remake. More surprisingly, it's also much nastier even with the heavier censorship of the day - Robert Mitchum's treatment of Polly Bergen in the last reel is startlingly violent and disturbing even now and its still shocking to see an early 60s film that revolves around sex crimes. There's no doubt exactly what's on Mitchum's mind, whether he's eyeing up a pickup in a bar or breaking an egg in his fist and smearing the yolk over the mother's shoulders and neck: like a lazy reptile waiting to casually catch a fly with his tongue, he merely has to look at Gregory Peck's underage daughter to exude menace. Where the remake offered a dysfunctional family forced to come together, the original ... Read More:
