VHS : House Of 1000 Corpses [2003]
I watched this film the other day, the 4th time I have seen it and it just gets better and better every time! Rob Zombie is a breath of fresh air in the Horror genre but having been a fan of his musical talents in both White Zombie and his solo material I was confident that his transition to directing horror would work, I dont agree with those who say the movie rips off Texas Chainsaw Massacre, there are elements of it in this film but I feel it only borrows slightly and on the whole is pretty original. The Firefly family are awesome, they are humourus and disturbing a perfect combination, in particular Captain Spalding and Otis are stand out and can be right up there with other classic horror charactors! The movie moves at a fast pace and ... Read More:

A perfect duet of Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger makes you forget about everything, lose your head and yourself in the world of love, passion and sexual fantasy.

Perfect style of movie, perfect match of actors - that makes big value of film. Very sensual movie that have nothing to do with all bad things that was said about it.

5 stars for actors, scenario, directing and perfect act.

VHS : Torch Song Trilogy [1988]
torch song trilogy is an emotional ride from start to finish is has a great cast such as anne bancroft, matthew brodrick,to name but a few,it tells the human story of love and the never ending search for it.
its not just about drag queens and gay people it is a multi-layered story of people trying to find what makes them happy and the journey the main character arnold goes through, this is a powerful film that breaks down the barriers of homophobia and religion and color.
you will laugh and you will cry and you will come away from seeing this movie with the feeling that everything will be ok with the world that arnold lives in and perhaps it may give some people hope......for me its made me want bunnie slippers.

VHS : Simple Men [1992]
My second best Hartley's film. A bit more professional in the making than the Unbelievable Truth, though maybe it lacks the immense freshness of the Hartley's very first film. Hence the 4 stars, not 5.
Anyway, really worth it, nothing to do with his pseudo-sophisticated and boring later films like Amateur.
When does it come out on DVD? (Hint!)

VHS : Fallen Angels [1995]
"We all need a partner, when will I find mine ?" seems to be a theme running through all of Wong Kar-Wai's films, as well as his other ingredients: Mind-bending speed, innovative, extraodinary camerawork (by Christopher Doyle), a great sountrack, and a gorgeous cast.
He also manages to show the murky side of society while never losing touch with its humanity. We see that even a cold-blooded hit-man can have a side that we might empathize with.

Takeshi Kaneshiro as the mute is the shining star of this film for me. He's brilliant, lovable, and beautiful. the "May 30th, 1995, I fell in love" scene is one I adore. In slow motion, and in black and white, the background and foreground move at different speeds, fade in and out...it's a magnificent piece ... Read More:
