VHS : The Indian In The Cupboard [1995]
Having read the book myself as a young child, some twenty years ago I was delighted to discover it had made it to the screen. Watching the movie for the first time brought back all the excitement and wonder that I felt as a child as I eagerly read from page to page. I thought the film was as true to the book as I could remember it. Now, having watched this film over and over with my two young boys, I have ordered the book for them to enjoy themselves, just as I did. I have also discovered the books were part of a continuing series, and I loved this film SO much I would be really delighted if the film production company decided to follow on with the next installment.
Great for children - and grown-ups who loved to read as young children. ... Read More:

Along with Robin Hood, this is my favourite Disney film (and probably has made me love foxes for life! :p). The plot is fantastic - I may have only been 5 when I first saw it but it still keeps me engaged now, 10+ years later.

Unlike Robin Hood, however, it has about four scenes where I cry; forget Bambi, this film has potential to be a true weepy when you're involved in it enough! Start to care about the main characters (Todd and Copper) and it's a never ending spiral.

There was a time when Elisabeth Shue was going to be 'the next big thing' and watching this film you truly believed it too.

The lovely Elisabeth holds the film together with her pure energy and 'like-ability factor'. As seventeen year old babysitter Christine - almost a baby herself - she manages to experience a series of mishaps, scrapes, run-ins and (yes) adventures in the course of one long evening, when she reluctantly agrees to pick up her runaway friend from the downtown bus depot (Brenda - hilarious bit part in this film - who adds some really funny moments whilst stranded at the depot ?! ).

The children who tag along for the ride are lovely out-of-town naive characters who each contribute something to the value ... Read More:

When a group of terrorists attack a private boarding school, a bunch of friends named the rejects, bring it upon themselves to protect the school and the people being held hostage inside it. They daringly set up a plan to get information to the outside world, and the many police officers surrounding the school. Most of the featured charactors have important American parents making it a very more exciting storyline. This is a must see for everybody.

This is quite a pleasant film, centering on the attraction between two unassuming married people who meet at a wedding. They become friends - clearly they are soulmates - but are nice enough not to want to destroy their marriages, unsatisfactory up to a point as these are, because their respective spouses are not bad, just limited and fallible. These same spouses start an affair of a kind and things become rather complicated. There are good jokes and good moments ; also some rather flat sequences. Danson and Rosselini are good, and surprisingly convincing, as the soulmates, and there's some cookie fun with Lloyd Bridges as Danson's dad. I didn't like the film as much as many others did. It seemed to me to be trying too hard and too obviously to be a feel-good movie, ... Read More:

A brilliant look at early nineties family, and more importantly teen life. Firstly, teen movies of today all seem to be set in school, and involve getting a date or a shag. Usually every character is hollow except the main one who we are supposed to cheer for, but more often than not they are hollow too. The actors are chosen for their looks and although they mostly give competent performances, they give nothing special, the film offers no insight, and nothing much happens. This is why Buffy (series) shone so brightly-brilliant stories, brilliant acting, extremely well developed characters. But it probably isn't fair to compare a long running TV show to a crappy film. However, DTMTBD proves that teen comedies do not have ... Read More:
