VHS : Boxing Helena [1993]
I must admit that I only saw this film due to the hype surrounding it. The idea of some demented doctor hacking off a woman's limbs to use her as a sex object is certainly an interesting one, yet the acting, writing and direction are all far too bad to make this film any cop.

The worst moments are when the film decides to descend into lowbrow farce, such as the infamous scene where Helena contracts diahorreah. The less said about this the better.

All in all though, poor quality throughout leaves this film without a leg to stand on.

VHS : Robocop [1988]
Alex Murphy is a good cop and dedicated husband. So when he is killed by gangsters, everyone is devastated. Then Robocop, the crime-ridden big city's first robotic police, officer arrives and takes on the criminals. It isn't long, however, before Murphy's work partner recognises this crime-fighting machine as the supposedly deceased cop. In time, Robocop begins recalling his former existence.

This film is sometimes unfairly treated as a simple action movie. It certainly has plenty of gore and violence, but at the same time it is a parable concerning the de-humanising of the police and the way the force can take over an officer's life, resulting in him losing his family. It's also a dark social satire concerning consumerism, Reagan ... Read More:

VHS : Company Business [1991]
Here's a game for really long car journeys - see how many alternative titles you can remember for this one. At one time or another known as Dinosaurs, Patriots, False Passports and Russian Roulette - and there are a lot more where they came from - with Elliott Gould and Marsha Mason announced in supporting roles (neither is anywhere to be seen in the finished film), Company Business appears to have been re-edited, reshot and retitled more times than anything this side of Heaven's Gate before finally getting a brief US release to disastrous business.

The scars and indecision don't show too badly; this looks like it was always this naff. Hackman and Baryshnikov are amiable in underwritten roles as the obsolete spys set up by their respective employees ... Read More:

VHS : Fortress [1994]
Being a big fan of the Highlander films (excluding 4-5, including
search for vengeance)and Christopher lambert I bought fortress years
ago on vhs expecting pretty much the same sort of fair as Highlander
and I was nicely surprised.

What surprised me the most was how watchable fortress is, I must have
watched my old vhs dozens of times and to be honest im still not tired
of it now.

The plot is very easy to get into, if a little clicé but that doesnt matter
you dont need to think with fortress because it is good old straight forward
action fair that any sci-fi fan can enjoy especially on a rainy day.

Production value wise Fortress is almost B-movie but not quite,
meaning that sometimes ... Read More:
