VHS : There's No Business Like Show Business [1954]
There's No business like Show business is a very cheesy stereotype of a musical. Marilyn although is excellent in it but is easy to see why she was not enthusiastic about making it.

It is an excellent showcase of Marilyn's singing and dancing skills!

The costumes are exquisite, and Marilyn gets all the best songs and outfits.

She is beautiful and I highly recommend it just because marilyn is in it but I dont recommend it for the story line.

Worth watching though just for Marilyn Monroe!!!!

VHS : All About Eve [1950]
For a film made in 1950 this is a surprisingly cynical movie, portraying as it does the back-stabbing and general cut-throat way the movie business creates huge stars, or at a wim might ignore great talent.

Anne Baxter plays the little girl lost Eve Harrington who manages to worm her way into the life of the great star Margo Channing (Bette Davis). Initially Eve just helps Margo out with dd jobs, but little by little she makes her way up the ladder to success (I'm giving nothing away here as you will find out when you watch the start of the film).

The script and performances are uniformly excellent. The acting honours are split between Bette Davis and George Sanders, who both have that rare gift of dominating a scene ... Read More:

VHS : Marilyn Monroe - Gentlemen Prefer Blondes / Seven Year Itch / How To Marry A Millionaire [1955]
Here is a chance to see the intensity of Marilyn's presence. When you watch "How To Marry A Millionaire" and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", you may be surprised to realize that she was not the lead actress, because your eyes follow her unconsciously everywhere on the screen and at the end you may find yourself wondering who the other actresses were. As for "The Seven-Year Itch", well, it's Marilyn at her best, so great a performance that people still discuss whether she was really dumb. Here's a question to which sweet Marilyn gives a very obvious answer: "if I'm playing the dumb blonde, do you expect me to look intelligent?"

VHS : Don't Bother To Knock [1952]
Anyone who says Marilyn Monroe was not a talented dramatic actress has never seen Dont Bother to Knock, a darkly unique entry among Marilyns filmography. This film marks Marilyns first dramatic starring role, and it is Marilyn as you would never see her again. She plays Nell, a deeply troubled young lady whose shyness and aloofness at first prove to be only the tip of the iceberg in relation to her problems. She has recently moved to New York to start her life over again, and her helpful uncle, an elevator operator in a grand hotel, has arranged for her to baby-sit a wealthy couples little girl for the night. This, as soon becomes apparent, was not a good idea. Her behavior becomes stranger and stranger as the night progresses, ... Read More:

VHS : Gentlemen Prefer Blondes [1951]
i really enjoyed this film, its a good piece of fluff to watch on a rainy day! while marilyn monroe excels as the wily not so dumb blonde and is considered the centre of attention, for me the fun lay with jane russell's witty and sardonic character, perhaps a little more dimensional than her counterpart. i would point her out not just as a supporting actress but as an equal to marilyn, a perfect duo that really complimented each other. a fantastic film for anyone to watch. and who could not be dazzled by those stunning collection of frocks? :P

VHS : Some Like It Hot [1959]
This film appeals on so many levels - it's a farce, a sophisticated comedy, a gangster movie, a musical - some classic lines and probably a good contender for the best last line ever. Please watch this, it's that good.

VHS : Marilyn's Something's Got To Give
My only disappointment with this documentary is that it is only 45 minutes in length! This video captures Marilyn at her very best, she looks so beautiful. It's very rare to ever see her reactions beyond the word "cut!" and here you get to see the real Marlilyn Monroe caught on tape forever-not just playing a character. This video sees her working on her very last film, documents her final year and shows her singing for the President. She looks so vulnerable and much too fragile for Hollywood, I think she was a genuinely lovely, real woman.

10.Remembering Marilyn - The Life Of Marilyn Monroe starring: Gloria Steinem, Lee Remick, Robert Mitchum, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Wagner
