VHS : Macbeth [1971]
Picture this: Circa 1975, A class of 32 bored, inner city school, O level English kids, dragged off to an arts cinema to see a showing of Polanski's Macbeth. We settled down for a boring couple of hours messing about and talking. Five minutes into the film, you could have heard a pin drop. We were hooked.
We went from complete disinterest, to shakespeare fans in one afternoon. I will always be grateful to that young english teacher (whatever her name was?) for igniting a lifelong interest in literature. If our Headmaster/parents had known what we were going to see, I'm sure the trip would never have happened! But the quality of acting was such, that suddenly we all knew and understood olde worlde english, something which carried on through ... Read More:

VHS : The Duchess Of Duke Street - Series 2 - Part 1
It's true, as the other reviewer on this page said, series 2 is better than series 1, I think because it had all got into it's stride by now, as is often perfectly natural. In the first episode, Louisa rashly invites her family to stay at the Bentinck, and thus ends up having her mother (June Brown, better known these days as Dot Cotton in "EastEnders") queening it over her staff, and her snarling brother Arfur (Martin Shaw, excellent as always) upsetting everyone in sight. The second episode has the sublime Freddie Jones playing the lovesick swain, as an Oxford academic, who finds himself the victim of a practical joke, in which two of his students have concoted love letters to Louisa claiming to be from him. Worth watching alone for the Cafe Royal ... Read More:

VHS : The Best Of Doctor In the House
A very funny TV series. The story is about the Comedy adventures of a group of Student Doctors, as they come up with their own ideas in the Hospital, try them out, and then get involved with the Medical Authorities. It is not really dated, and well acted by the late, great Barry Evans, as one of the Student doctors. Oh, and some of Monty Python and the Goodies did most of the writing. Brilliant.

4.The Professionals - Issue 2 - Vol. 5 Of 8 - The Purging Of CI5 / Hijack / Bloodsports starring: Lewis Collins, Ruby Wax, Michelle Newell, Martin Shaw, Gordon Jackson
directed by: Dennis Abey, Martin Campbell, Phil Meheux

VHS : Horror Hospital
Quite a good film. If you're a horror fan, you won't find any new twists and turns, but you'll still enjoy this film as it works it's way competently through the genre's cliches. The "twist" ending - the revealing of the doctor's _true_ identity - is a bit of a yawn, and the protagonists are all annoyingly early 70s 'rebellious' youth, but all-in-all, if you like horror, this is one you should add to your collection - it isn't a star, but it does make the grade.

VHS : Spitting Image - The Best Of - Is Nothing Sacred? [1984]
This SI video is hillarious! It features (Mostly)the best bits of "Spitting Image". I laughed all the way through with most of the skits and the caricatures (Like John Mayjor) Are also Hillarious! The musical numbers ROCK!! Like the Queen singing a pop song about her self and a punk group mixing in and out with pop. The only complaint is that most of the political skits rareley feature Maggie! (Because It was released in 1992) A must for fans of comedy and puppets
