VHS : Citizen X [1994]
This film is the true story of Andrei Chikatilo, one of the worst serial killers in history who killed 53 people, the film starts off with 8 dead children found in some russian woods, after examining the bodies, a forensic specialist (played by stephen rea) comes to the conclusion that a serial killer is on the loose, his colonel (played by donald sutherland) puts him in charge of the case.

This film is one of the best films about a true serial killer, all of the actors in the film play there parts very well, the actor who plays chikatilo (jeffrey demunn) is very convincing as the killer and looks very creepy. The film has no special effects and very little violence, Overall this is a great film and a must see.

VHS : Escape To Victory [1981]
This film is a fantastic homage to all things british (with the exception of Sylvester Stallone). As I slowly replace my entire video collection on DVD, it saddens me that this classic is not yet available. When you consider the total dross that has found it's way on to DVD, it is quite tragic that this film hasn't made it yet!

THIS IS MY REVIEW OF THE FILM & NOT THE HD-DVD

I love this film & can't wait for it to be released on Blu-ray.

It tells the story of life, death, afterlife & rebirth. Robin Williams plays Chris Nielson, a man who finds his soulmate (the beautiful Annabella Sciorra), they have two children & are all happy for mny years. Untill a car accident kills the children. That takes a toll on their parents & the bond between them wavers. However, after four years of healing, there comes another car accident which kills Chris. He is, after a transitional period, guided to Heaven by Cuba Gooding Jrs character & as he's settling in he realizes that he still has a connection to his wife. After settling down, Chris is informed that his ... Read More:

VHS : Needful Things [1993]
Set in the small township of Castle Rock - a fictional location created by Stephen King - 'Needful Things' is the tale of an antiques shop run by Leland Gaunt, the Devil himself, played by Max Von Sydow. As the proprieter of the New England business, Gaunt gets his claws into the town, just as antiques dealer Straker did in the King masterpiece 'Salem's Lot'.

Sheriff Alan Pangborn (Ed Harris, 'The Creepshow' & 'The Stand') does not buy the salesman's evil pitch. He sees straight through Gaunt's evil plan immediately.

Incidentally, Pangborn also turns up in King's 'The Dark Half' and is played in the subsequent movie by Michael Rooker.

Gaunt practically buys his way into the township, offering the residents antiques of their ... Read More:

VHS : The Greatest Story Ever Told [1965]
This is the best film about Jesus that I have ever watched.
It will take you through a roller coaster of emotions as you watch it. The actor who plays Jesus is brilliant. In one scene where he is asked if he is really the son of god, Jesus replies 'I am HE!'. Simply great. Another great scene, and there are pleanty, is when he is in a church in Jerusuleam and stands up and starts teaching the others in the church about god. Everyone should seriously watch this film, you will enjoy it emensley.

They're sitting at a table in an off-campus restaurant close to Thornhill College. A pitcher of beer sits between them. "Let's play a little game," says Dr. Paul Novotny, head of a secret psychic research project, to Alex Gardner, who had been one of his top subjects a few years ago. "Let's pretend that a man, with a little help from science, could psychically project himself inside the dream of a sleeping person. Then pretend, once inside the dream, he becomes an active participant in it. He'd actually be there, right in the middle...would feel the dream...experience it...even shape and alter the dream itself. What would you say to a notion like that?"

Alex (Dennis Quaid), who had left Dr. Novotny (Max Von Sydow) previously because he was tired of being an experimental ... Read More:

VHS : The Virgin Spring [1960]
A virgin spring would be an early spring when the days break bright and clear but the nights are still forbiddingly cold. As one of the characters says, The day began with such promise only to end tragically--or words to that effect. A virgin spring is also that time in a young maiden's life when she is still innocent and has no sense of the hardships to come or the beasts that dwell in the deep dark woods. And a virgin spring may be a miraculous sign from God of clear spring water flowing spontaneously from an hitherto unknown fountain, a place on which to build a church to honor the God that one has offended.

All of these springs are in this riveting masterwork by one of cinema's greatest directors, the incomparable Ingmar Bergman. Light and darkness suffuse the 14th ... Read More:

VHS : The Exorcist - Director's Cut [1974]
I watched The Exorcist 2 weeks ago and everyone I knew said it was terrifying so before watching I expected to get scared, well I didn't. I barely jumped.

I understand that The Exorcist scared the hell out of people when the film was released in 1973 as the special effects were advanced for the time, but now they look dated and there almost laughable.

I'm not saying The Exorcist isn't a good film because it is good but it's just weird, not scary.
