VHS : Making Michael Jackson's Thriller [1983]
This is FAB! I love MJ at the best of times, but he really surpassed himself with the Thriller album and video. "The Making of Thriller" is a great way to see Michael in his former glory, before the baby-dangling, the surgery and the funfair. He's so cute too!

VHS : Dunkirk [1958]
Brilliant! Historic film from WW2 showing true British 'grit' and shows the true meaning of the 'Dunkirk Spirit'. Keeps to events and Sir John Mills gives a very good performance.

VHS : True Romance [1993]
An excellent thriller/caper movie from 1993, written by film director quentin tarantino and directed by tony scott. Featuring christian slater as a single guy who loves martial arts movies, who finds unxepected true romance with a call girl played by patricia arquette. fate gives them the chance to make millions when a suitcase of drugs comes into their possession, but there's more than a few people on their trail. will they live happily ever after?

Hugely entertaining film, thanks to the leads creating two highly appealing and likeable characters whom you can really root for. there's a good cast - a few before they were famous - and a plot that you can't anticipate the outcome of. A hugely entertaining piece of film. and with ... Read More:

VHS : Bugsy Malone [1976]
I watched this film at various stages throughout my life and still have a soft spot for Bugsy Malone. Jodie Foster is and always has been one of my favourite actresses and this is the film I first saw her in. Remember when Babyface says 'get Babyface..I am Babyface' who incidentally is a British actor called Dexter Fletcher and has been in many television productions and films more famously in Lock Stock as Soap. The British actors seem to have done more with their lives than the American ones.....please correct me if I'm wrong. I wont mind...

This film is never outdated, should still be 'allowed' by the PC Brigade and no doubt be watched a few generations down the line. The actors were outstanding for their age and for the time and the whole ... Read More:

VHS : Yangtse Incident (1957)
This film is a true account of a largely forgotten encounter in the late 1940s in which a British warship, HMS Amethyst, was illegally fired on by Communist Forces upon while making lawful passage up the Yangtse River. The ship sustained heavy damage and suffered 22 dead including the Captain, who succumbed to his wounds the following day. During this encounter the vessel stuck fast on mud flats where she remained for some time.

The film deals mostly with the aftermath of the incident and with the subsequent efforts made to secure the Ship's freedom before the famous dash to freedom was finally made some months later.

This a first class British war film in a similar vein to The Dambusters and countless other war films made in the 40s ... Read More:

VHS : Women in Love [1969]
This is a nice film, satisfying in so many ways, even if the sad conclusion is anything but, but that's the nature of romantic tragedy. This is Oliver Reed's finest film performance (apart from maybe Gladiator), and must be Ken Russell's best movie bar none. Good authentic adaption of DHL, a writer whose works often arouse strong emotions one way or another. In fact human emotion is often the main focus of all his works, rather than the more overt themes of class, or raw passion. This film has a lovely period feel to it, is very intimate in its portrayal of the relationships between people with different personalities and feelings, and it distills the mood or essence of DHL perfectly. If you're prepared for a more involving, slower paced sort of romantic drama ... Read More:

VHS : Moonwalker
It is almost inaccurate to call this DVD a single movie. 'Moonwalker' is more like a collection a mini-movies and watching it is a journey. You can never be sure what will come up next.

The dvd begins with fabulous performances of 'Man in the Mirror' from Michael, filmed live in two different locations and teamed with a picture montage of famous do-gooders. From here we are treated to clips from Michael's career and a re-enactment of the 'Bad' video by children.
My favourite part of the movie comes up next though, where various claymation fans pursue Michael through Hollywood studios and he transforms into a rabbit. 'Speed demon' kicks in and later Michael and the rabbit have a dance duel.
The award winning and fascinating music video ... Read More:
