VHS : Mulan (Disney) [1998]
I honestly wasn't expecting much out of this. So I was very suprised when I loved it from start to finish! It has everything we have come to expect of a classic Disney film.. a strong hero/heroine, a hilarious sidekick character, a great soundtrack and a beautiful display of animation. Yes, it really is a great film, with a powerful story and some great characters. Highly recommended.

VHS : Robocop [1988]
You don't really hear a lot about Robocop anymore, but this really was one of the biggest films of the 1980s. For a teenager like me, Robocop was the baddest dude in town back in 1987 - and now, twenty plus years later, he's still pretty much the baddest dude in town. The film really hasn't aged much at all, which came as a pleasant surprise to me. Some of the special effects involving the giant Enforcement Droid (ED-209) aren't impressive as they used to be, and that one shot looking down at someone falling to his death looks absolutely awful, but everything else, especially Robocop himself, works like gangbusters. It's still quite a gritty film, with loads of realistic violence (vintage Paul Verhoeven, in other words). In fact, Verhoeven ... Read More:

VHS : Stephen King's The Stand - Parts 1 and 2 [1994]
The Stand is a strange 'film' to review. It is, after all, a 6-hour mini-series split in the middle by a large time gap. Whilst this allows for deeper characterisation and plot development, it also means a smaller budget, B-list actors and cheesy acting. My God, is there cheesy acting. It is still my belief that Molly Ringwald had her eyes on all of the Razzie 'awards'.
The 'film' gets under way in spectacular fashion, with one of the greatest intro sequences / music cues ever, with Blue Oyster Cult's 'Don't Fear (The Reaper)' playing against the backdrop of an underground facility full of corpses. However, after the intro has finished, things take a brief downturn. ALL the supporting actors set new standards in wooden acting (check out THAT sneeze). In fact, ... Read More:

VHS : Brave New World
Leslie Libman and Larry Williams' movie "Brave New World", which was originally written by Aldous Huxley, is about a "savage" named John in a utopian society in which mankind seems to live without any problems or issues. John is thrown in to that lifestyle but starts questioning it, not feeling comfortable with the idea of designing humans, not being in love with one another or taking free drugs so no one starts questioning things.

The directors did not leave the story unedited. A good example is the very first chapter, in which important information are revealed to the READER. The VIEWER is not given those facts about cloning and designing humans in the Brave New World. Furthermore, in the end, John does not kill himself - he "accidentally" trips and fells ... Read More:

VHS : Hot Shots Part Deux [1993]
This kooky movie is the sequel to Hot Shots! and takes aim at the movie Rambo. In this story, Topper Harley (played by Charlie Sheen) must return to Iraq to rescue a group of people held hostage by that evil madman, Saddam Hussein. Surrounded by a group of equally crazy and trigger-happy misfits, Topper goes in with guns blazing, setting out to make this the bloodiest (and silliest) movie ever! [Color, released in 1993, with a running time of 1:26.]

This is an extremely funny, extremely offbeat movie from that king of funny, offbeat movies - Jim Abrahams. If you are familiar with Mr. Abrahams' other movies, Airplane and The Naked Gun, then you know just what kind of zaniness he is capable of. Well, this movie lives up to the standards set by those other Abrahams hits.

The story is ... Read More:

Preston Waters a depressed 10-year old. His brothers, Damien and Ralph have moved their business into his room, he also didn't have much fun at Butch's birthday party at Funland (Fun, Fun, Fun for everyone!) The reason he didn't enjoy himself was maybe that

he couldn't do much with only six tokens, or maybe because he doesn't even like Butch. Preston then goes to the bank to open an account with $11 he got for his birthday. That same day, Quigley was in the bank

president, Beiderman's office. They were in a money laundring process. When Quigley leaves, he runs into ... Read More:

VHS : Another Stakeout [1994]
Even better than the Original

Yes I know its unusual but really ' Another Stakeout ' is a lot more funny than ' Stakeout ' .

Its also presented in the best widescreen Aspect ratio ' 2.35:1 '

If you're a fan of the first you will love this.

For some unknown reason ' Madeleine Stowe ' is not credited even although she is in the film and plays the same part as she had in the original film - ' Maria McGuire '

10.Lovelines [1984] starring: Michael Winslow, Don Michael Paul, Frank Zagarino, Miguel Ferrer, Sarah Buxton
