VHS : There's A Girl In My Soup [1970]
Good acting but uninteresting story. Not much happens and its very talky. Judging from the cover and the casting I expected a fun comedy but "There's a Girl in My Soup" feels more of an uninspired drama-comedy, with very few funny moments (I can only think of one, and I just finished watching it). The acting is good, as expected from Hawn and Sellers, but their talents are wasted. Not recommended.

VHS : Inspector Morse - Deceived By Flight - Series 3 - Episode 3 [1987]
I'm not an avid Morse fan, I bought this video because I had to assess the acting ability of Peter 'Chris Tate - Emmerdale' Amory for an unofficial award as part of a student publication. It's typical Morse, classical music, jaguars and Oxford, but well acted as expected and entirely engrossing - if slightly more predictable than other episodes I had seen.

VHS : Me Without You [2001]
This 2001 film from British director Sandra Goldbacher is a coming-of-age story about intense female teenage bonds and what happens to them on the road to adulthood. Marina (a splendid Anna Friel) and Holly (Michelle Williams) are in young years already fervently loyal best friends who live next door to each other. Perhaps as a reaction to this over-intensity and partly due to different parental backgrounds, their personalities develop into near opposites: Marina is a self-consciously wild party-girl and eclectic dresser who dabbles with heroin and casual sex, whilst Holly is a Sylvia Plath reading intellectual, a steadier, introverted being who feels mousy and unsexy (her domineering mother is shown telling her "There are pretty people, and ... VHS : Mosquito Squadron [1969]
Bought this film with 633 Sqn a few days a go. After watching both of them I now know why I always confused the two films. I watched 633 Sqn first followed by Mosquito Squadron and while both films are good in their own right, I have one major problem with this one. It is not only a virtual re-make with the plot being so very close in many places, but it also uses loads of film footage from 633 Sqn.

That aside I would recommend it to anyone who likes war films.

VHS : Witchfinder General [1968]
Every lover of film has had a pivotal film experience, the movie that made such an impact on them that they have never forgotten it. For me WITCHFINDER GENERAL is that film. I first saw it in 1969 as THE CONQUERER WORM (AIP's American release title designed to cash in on the Vincent Price/Edgar Allan Poe series although the movie has nothing to do with Poe). I was 17 years old, just about to complete my junior year of high school in Greenville, South Carolina, and was a big fan of the Roger Corman/Vincent Price Poe series. I had seen very few films that would not qualify as G rated. The ratings system had just been introduced the year before (1968) and this film was rated M for mature audiences. Today it rates an R. It was a complete shock to the system ... Read More:
