VHS : The Burning Bed [1984]
Very good, I was especially pleased with this movie, it moved me, because of all the abuse we see in the world today, especially by men onto women I felt very pleased to see a woman overcome the situation she was in and not be held responsible for trying to survive .

VHS : Fire Down Below [1997]
This has some great action, a fantastic bit with a flare & a load of petrol, & some high quality ass kicking.

It also outlasts its welcome in some places but hey, it does 90% of what it says on the tin.

VHS : Deadly Pursuit [1988]
A top cast make this compelling thriller an excellent purchase. Poitier and Beringer trail a murderer across mountains, through forest and into the city where their roles of leader and follower are reversed. A timeless hit.

VHS : Under Fire [1983]
Under Fire is one of the few mainstream American `political' movies to emerge from the studio system, but along with Missing it's probably the best. On one level it grafts a traditional romantic triangle onto its story of American war correspondents in Nicaragua gradually finding themselves drawn to taking sides instead of taking pictures, but at least it's a convincingly grown-up relationship that allows Nick Nolte, Gene Hackman and a never better Joanna Cassidy to really shine. It's a shame that Cassidy never got more opportunities like this: a last-minute replacement for Julie Christie, she's extraordinarily good here.

The film also boasts an impressive supporting cast, with a star-making turn from Ed Harris as an amiable but ... Read More:

VHS : Stephen King's IT [1990]
This film requires a slightly sick mind but is a fantastic film. It's pure evil and has the perfect evil figure in it. I would recommend this to any horror movie fans. A classic film from Stephen King. A slightly disappointing ending but otherwise a top film. I will always have a fear of clowns now and avoid them if I see them. Listen to the drains if when you walk past them on the street. You may hear an evil clown laugh!

VHS : Hanover Street [1975]
One of the delights of DVD - even more than video - is that its insatiable desire for fresh product sees the resurrection of swathes of unloved would-be blockbusters that no self-respecting cinematheque would ever include in any retrospective and which would otherwise be left to rot in time-compressed panned-and-scanned graveyard slots on network TV just before the infomercials start. These aren't the forgotten or under-appreciated masterpieces awaiting rediscovery, but rather the misjudged, the misbegotten or the just plain mistimed, films before or after their time that never found their audience and, until the advent of DVD, would never have been given the chance.

Hanover Street fits into all those categories at once. Intended both as a throwback ... Read More:
