VHS : Nuts In May [1976]
I had never heard of this film, but I first watched it a couple of years ago and it blew me away. This is now firmly establised as one of my favourite films of all time. Whilst I know that many people will not understand the film, I now actually judge people on whether they like this film or not. I have changed my views on my own friends through watching this superb film. People who do not like this film are simpleton's in my view, and example of this is my friend Wikey. He does not like this film, and therefore I like him less as I know his brain does not have enough capacity to understand the subtle humour this film provides.

It is best to watch this film when you are slightly tipsy, and it always gets me howling with laughter. ... Read More:

VHS : Kevin Turvey - The Man Behind The Green Door [1982]
Kevin Turvey is one the earliest characters Rik Mayall made famous in the very early 1980's...Kevin is a loner "although he did once have a hat" according to his mother who is an executive receptionist at a local hairdressers..then of course there is Mick the Lodger played successfully by Robbie Coltrane. This video basically follows Kevin and his insane quest for "another busy day's investigatings" including his hilarious re-enactment of The Battle Of Redditch and his trip downtown will leave you wishing you brought spare pants! His handy tips including "Cream Crackers ready Spread" and a guest song from his mate Keith Marshall played by partner in crime Ade Edmonson is one of the funniest songs you will ever hear. ... VHS : Beowulf
I must admit, I love this film, while acknowledging that it is not a great film. Christopher Lambert has a tendency to pick offbeat roles (such as The Sicillian) but they are quite charming nonetheless. Only about half the movie is really based on the beowulf story, and it has odd modern touches which make it look like "Heavy Metal" magazine (if you remember it). This is obviously shown up on budget and special effects by the 2007 film of the same name, yet for some reason I still like this one. It has a kind of campy gothic theme, think David Lynch's Dune version. Go in with low expectations and you might enjoy it.
