VHS : Harry Enfield And Chums 1997 [1994]
This video is very funny indeed as it contains nearly one hundred minutes of top comedy. Among the many highlights of this video are Wayne and Waynetta winning the lottery, Lee and Lance's song, the homeophobic dad, the Scousers in Spain, Kevin going to a party and the Toddlers painting together. Nearly every perfect sketch on this video is funny! Harry Enfield uses super characters with excellent catch phrases. 'I'm not your slave?' 'Calm down, calm down' and 'You don't wanna do it like that.' The one fault with this show is you can't really watch it more than twice without becoming slightly bored. Still great while it lasts.

VHS : Brassed Off [1996]
Channel Four developed Brassed Off and The Full Monty at the same time. A man called David Aukin, I think had to decide which to make. He could only choose one, so he chose Brassed Off.

Although The Full Monty is an excellent film he made the right choice as Brassed Off is more complex with a greater insight into the problems facing "old" industries in the 1990's in Yorkshire.

Well done Mr Aukin and everyone who worked on this brilliant film.

VHS : Sergeant York [1941]
Gary Cooper was 40 years old when he made "Sergeant York," and his Southern accent is weak at best, but those things do not end up detracting all that much from his performance or this film. Directed in 1941 by Howard Hawks, "Sergeant York" has strong propagandistic elements. A whiskey-drinking hell-raiser, Alvin C. York undergoes a religious conversation when lighting strikes his gun and almost kills him. His goal in life becomes getting himself a piece of bottom land so he can propose to Gracie Williams (Joan Leslie). Things go against him, but Alvin holds his temper and does what the Good Book tell him to do. Then World War I breaks out and Alvin is drafted. Unable to get status as a conscientious objector because of his religious beliefs, Alvin ... Read More:

VHS : Arthur [1981]
I have just watched `Arthur` 27 years after first watching it, Utter Joy.
Anyone who is a little down on life should go to their doctor and get a prescription for this film. Sit down and play the dvd, and laugh, and laugh, and laugh, Cry a little, use up a few tissues, and just enjoy. You will feel as right as rain after this.
Brilliant cast, perfect timing. One of the all time best.

VHS : Harry Enfield And Chums [1994]
After 2 classic series for the BBC (Harry Enfield's Television Programme), this third series (which is basically the same show but with a new title and some new characters) is where Harry's comedy genius began to dip and, in my opinion, began to get a bit desperate.
The old characters are as funny as ever: Tim Nice-But-Dim, the Old Gits, the Slobs, the Scousers (with someone else playing Joe McGann's role) and Kevin becomes that infamous teenager... (Remember the original kid "Kevin" who was the total opposite of his teenaged version?). Kathy Burke is brilliant as Perry (but everybody knows that, I guess). Also: Lee & Lance are a major improvement in this series - a lot funnier than in the second series.
