VHS : Monte Carlo or Bust [1969]
Peter Cook and Dudley Moore are only two of the galaxy of stars who all have great parts in this classic 60's comedy about the famous car rally across Europe. Tony Curtis, Terry Thomas, Eric Sykes, Susan Hampshire and Gert Frobel all have dirty tricks up their sleeves to be first across the line as they face the hazards of the frozen North, the Alps etc. "Pete n' Dud" appear as two maniac Army officers in what is my favourite of all their performances. This film is the real story of the 60's cartoon serial "The Wacky Races" and you will recognise the Dick Dastardly character immediately as Terry Thomas (and Eric Sykes, the sneaky butler who translates brilliantly as "Mutley, The Snickering Hound" in "The Wacky Races"!) The media coverage of ... Read More:

VHS : Born Free / Living Free [1966]
Born Free is known as a classic, yet I had forgotten quite how inspiring and moving the original film really was!
This is a worthwhile purchase, if only to own Born Free, but the bonus with this edition is having both the original and the sequel together. And although Living Free doesn't quite meet the original's standards it still does make the whole story feel complete.
Plus even if you don't like the wonderful story, or beautiful scenery, almost everyone has some appreciation for the backing music and title track, which is worth the price on its own.
If you are building up a collection of classic films, or want see how movies really should be made then this is an essential purchase.

6.The Trygon Factor starring: Stewart Granger, Susan Hampshire, James Robertson Justice, Robert Morley, Cathleen Nesbitt

VHS : Rosamunde Pilcher's Coming Home / Nancherrow [1999]
Coming Home is an excellent example of English TV and Drama at it's best. It shows the harsh realities of the 'normality' during the back drop of the horrific Second World War, in comparison with the 'dream' and 'fairytale' lifestyle of the extravagant Carey-Lewis Family. You will get sucked into this special world and will want to be Judith, having tea on the Lawn at Nancherrow!

Nancherrow is one spin off that seems like it belongs to the orginal (although it was a complete made for TV show and was nothing to do with Pilcher herself), and follows on well, although, it can be seen without having watched Coming Home and still makes perfect sense. This is a classic example of how people pull together and smile through problems, and the audience ... Read More:

i thought this video was really good. it is really believable and makes you feel as though yo really are there, waching, fly-on-the-wall style. it ties in really well with the first part of the the story-Coming Home, although it is still excellent is you haven't watched it. It is about a country house in Cornwall, and there is a really good ending. It is perfect for all ages, even though it may be a bit unsuitable for children under 12. Basically i would recommend this to anyone who is hungry for some relaxing, theraputic entertainment!

VHS : The Forsyte Saga - Vol. 6 [1967]
I was sent to bed when the serie was shown in France in 1967, 10 years old at the time, but I amazingly remembered Kenneth More, Eric Porter and Nyree Dawn Porter faces. My mother was absolutly taken by the show and had no time for a kid.
Just last year, in Oslo, I walked into a news stand and found a very cheap print of the book. I bought it...........and let it rest until this summer on my coffee table. I finally took it while on a 10 days hike in the austrian alps and couldn't let go of the book. Primarly because I realized the Forsyte, although english, were just like my family !! Very chilling, but yet, there are heaps of french Forsytes, have a read at Emile Zoal or Balzac !!
I suddenly had to have the DVD. I finally went for the 1967 ... Read More:
