The Video cover shown is NOT for the animated version described - it is for the film (not animated) version of the Walt Disney film circa 1950? The film was a 'classic' starring Richard Todd, Joan Rice, Peter Finch and Hubert Gregg. I have seen it many times and have the VHS version as shown on your site. I had trouble finding a copy!

VHS : The Little Foxes [1941]
If there were ever a better movie made about family greed, duplicity and selfishness, I've yet to see it. William Wyler, one of the great directors, is at the top of his form. Bette Davis commands the screen with a performance so powerfully evil you can't stop watching, but it never descends to camp.

The Hubbard brothers, Ben (Charles Dingle) and Oscar (Carl Benton Reid), bankers in their turn-of-the-century southern town, have a scheme to bring cotton factories to the south where the cotton grows. With cheap labor they'll make a fortune. They need their sister, Regina Giddens (Bette Davis) to come up with a third of the required investment. The three believe they can get the money from Regina's sick husband, Horace (Herbert Marshall). He ... Read More:

Set around a fictional 1910 London to Paris air race and the rivalries of the pioneer aviators it attracts from all around the world to risk life, limb and some dodgy back-projection in the Paris sequences, Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, or How I Flew From London to Paris in 25 Hours and 11 Minutes began life as a project on pilots Alcock and Brown for Alexander Korda. Director Annakin had already reconstructed many of the vintage aircraft before the producer's death took the project with him.

As with The Longest Day, the story provided 20th Century Fox with a great opportunity to increase its foreign box-office prospects by populating the film with popular actors from around the world, while its episodic structure and the sheer size of ... Read More:

While many will debate and argue over Timothy Dalton for years to come, in much the same way as over George Lazenby, I going to put my foot out and say Dalton is one of my favorite Bond's, along with Brosnan and Connery. There never really has been a bad Bond actor, but Dalton, I believe is up there with Connery and Pierce and I love The Living Daylights. Dalton was my first 'new' Bond in many ways. I was four when this film was released, and was developing a love for the Bond movies at the time. I had grown up watching the Moore and Connery movies on television and Dalton was the first new actor in the role that I seen, which is why I have special affection for this Bond movie. I love it. Not only do we have a great Bond movie, but it is also a great espionage thriller that ... Read More:

VHS : Save The Last Dance [2001]
I think the title pretty much sums up what I'm going to say in this review. I finally got around to watching 'Save the Last Dance', becoming quite tired of the 'How can you not have seen 'Save the Last Dance', it's the best dance film out there!' comments each time the film came up in conversation. And yes, I enjoyed it, it was a good, entertaining film, but it definatley was not one of the greatest things ever created and I don't think it deserves quite as much hype as it recieves.

The story line has become a cleche by now, girl and boy become romantically involved against a backdrop of dancing. I think that this was one of the first dance films of it's kind though, and you can almost feel that throughout the movie - it feels fresh and original, not like a carbon copy of an already done and dusted ... Don't expect 21st century effects, sex and gore. This 1960's movie is a great tale about the the authors of the stories from childhood. The dragon scene is mildly violent but it is a childrens/family film so don't expect anything that may give nightmares to little ones.

VHS : Too Many Crooks [1959]
As above - When I watch this film and compare it to some the other more lauded comedies of the era, I find myself usually rooting for this one over several of the others. Its story is neat and compactly narrated, and the small ensemble cast is on top form, with each star complementing the other perfectly. It has some great comedy scenes which were actually quite influential, the runaway hearse being used as a getaway vehicle I think may be the first time this well worked scenario had been used, in British cinema at least. The characters are strong, and the interplay between them is fantastic. George Cole shows his acting pedigree with a sublime portrayal of a self styled 'Brains' behind a crime gang, made to look like a right Charlie by his own ineptitude and constant bungling. TT is the sly, conniving, tax avoiding ... Read More:

It's hard to see this decent comedy film now as anything much more than an early vehicle for that genius Peter Sellers. For Sellers fans this film is essential. It has him playing a comic master of impersonation, which is of course what he himself was, as we can see here in this film. Vocally, I don't think I've heard a better mimic in my life - the handful of excellent voice artists we have now are all superb but could they do a whole film in character without waivering one bit, as Sellers did? Sellers was far more than a mimic though, as he proved after radio that he could really act, and not just comedy! My favourite skit of his here is the Irishman, looking 'for a bit of jelly'. Alot of these film characters he did before Cleuseu made him a superstar had reprisals on the radio, in great sketches often written by the ... Read More:
