VHS : The Simpsons - Treehouse Of Horror
What can I say? A very, very good collection of Simpsons' Halloween episodes which tries, and doesn't fail, to make fun of 'The Shining', Freddy Krueger, cannibalism and even - ooooh! - time travels (among others, of course). OK, so it's not really scary, but laugh you definitely WILL! It only loses its way to a five-star heaven, because some of the episodes, though funny throughout, seem to be lacking a twist in the tail (like for instance in the Micro-World Episode which ends when things start getting interesting).

2.More Than Champions starring: Bernhard Langer, Kriss Akabusi, Gavin Peacock, Jonathan Edwards, Judy Simpson

Hitchcock always used to say that he saw no point in adapting an excellent book for one of his films because if a novel was so good, what could he do to improve upon it?

As a result, in the 80 years since it's release there must have been a lot of disappointed people who have bought John Buchan's book on the strength of this film. For all intents and puposes, Hitchcock's version has become the one that all the others are judged on.

Robert Donat is superb as Richard Hannay, a man who ends up on the run when a spy, whom he had only met that evening, ends up dead in his flat. Hannay ends up fleeing to Scotland, determined to pass on the message about the 39 steps.

Along the way he picks up Pamela, another superb ... Read More:

I love the simpsons, so I would probably give any of the videos 5/5, but this is one of my favourites!
The first episode is from series 11, Guess who's coming to critisize Dinner? Homer becomes a food critic and ends up in a way that only Homer could, with all the chefs in Springfield wanting to kill him for being over-critical! Not really one of my favourites.

King-size Homer-I really love this one! Homer decides to become grossley overweight so that the can work from home on a computer!(series 7).

Burns verkaufen der Kraftwerk-From series 3. Mr Burns sells the power plant to a German Company and Homer ends up losing his job! The only referenece to food though is when Homer daydreams about the land of chocolate, it's a bit ... Read More:

One of the early Ealing comedies set in post-war London, so there's a lot of bomb sites and rubble! A young man (Harry Fowler) is looking for a job - a weekly children's comic (The Trump) comes his way and he begins to notice that some of the comic's contents are accurate (for example he sees a car in the comic that has the same registration number as a car he spots in the street). In checking up further he and some of his chums become convinced that the comic is being used by crooks to send coded messages to each other about potential robberies. The kids seek out The Trump's author (a wonderful cameo from Alastair Sim) to check whether his original stories have been changed. The action takes off from there! This is a lovely little film, with a good cast ... Read More:

Due to an alleged stupid dispute between Warners and 20th Century Fox over who owns the UK rights to the Towering Inferno this magnificent 2 disc set is unavaible in the UK except on Region 1 import. But it is well worth the effort to get hold of one.
Beautifully packaged, with the main feature remastered and a host of fascinating extras, far to many to go into detail about on disc 2, plus a set of lobby cards, this is the ultimate Towering Inferno set and one that every fan of this classic disaster movie should own.

A fantastic plot, even allowing for the downright silly concepts of time and size. Or maybe NASA had had a budget cut?
Only kidding, but that's really what the film is about - 'What if there had been one screw-up too many'.
The plot is great, the scripting great, but....
It's the ending. It looks like the idea was rushed, bolted on due to lack of ideas or time, or replaces something else - a little like the ending from the theatrical release of Bladerunner, you know?
Ok, so Gould and Brolin race across the graves at Arlington (assuming that's where they are), and drop to slow-mo, as the press, the mourners, and the President to to look, not in slow-mo.
So, did Hyams run out of ideas, plot, money, or what? He gets it right in Outland, as the marshall takes a swing ... Read More:
