VHS : Laurel And Hardy - Blotto / Another Fine Mess [1930]
Blotto and Another Fine Mess are two of laurel and Hardy's funniest short films ever to be created and the performances they give are side-splittingly funny. In Blotto, Laurel escapes his strict wife with a bottle of liquor he and Hardy intend to enjoy at a restaurant. But, what the two don't realise is Laurel's wife has replaced it with a concoction of mustard, chilli sauce and a pot of cold tea which the two still manage to get drunk on. The results a laugh-a-minute short which will have you in as much fits of laughter as the famous comedy duo have over the "liquor." In Another Fine Mess, farce is brilliantly brought to life by Laurel and Hardy. They are running from the police charged with vagrancy and hide out in a mansion. ... Read More:

VHS : Laurel And Hardy - The Devil's Brother [1933]
The movie Fra Diavolo is based on an Opera but I cannot imagine that the Opera was as funny as this movie. It is the story of the feared bandit Fra Diavolo. Stan & Ollie are the comedy element. The storyline is basically that they want to become bandits so that they can "start at the top and get to the bottom without working hard". Because they have not much luck, they pretend, that Ollie is Fra Diavolo. Unfortunatelly, the person they want to rob turns out to be Fra Diavolo himself. First he wants to hang both of them, but then he says that he will give Stan another chance, if he hangs Ollie. While he is trying to do this, Stan asks Ollie if he wants to be buried or should stan have him stuffed. In the end, Stan & Ollie end ... Read More:

VHS : Laurel And Hardy - Unaccustomed As We Are / Berth Marks / Men O'War [1929]
This compilation contains the duo's first three talking films in beautiful colourised versions.
Others may think different, but my favourite of the 3 is 'Men O' War'. Shot with great skill, Stan & Ollie act as sailors taking 2 girls out for a soda. In a sequence where Stan says he doesn't want anything to avoid not being able to pay the bill, one of the girls says "Oh general, don't be a poinker" (or something like that), so Stan says "All right, i'll have a banana splits"!
This is a great compilation. I watch it back & forth several times. I enjoyed mine. You will too!

VHS : Laurel And Hardy - Unaccustomed As We Are / Berth Marks / They Go Boom [1929]
3 classic L&H comedies all released in 1929 (directed by Lewis Foster & James Parrott).
'Unaccustomed As We Are' is the duo's first talkie. Ollie brings Stan home for dinner, Mrs Hardy walks out in protest (she is tired of cooking for every 'Nic-Nac' her husband brings home). This film was remade in 1938 as 'Block-Heads'.
'Berth Marks' sees Stan & Ollie causing chaos while sharing a bed in a train. It also sees other passengers getting in a fight and ripping each other's clothes!
'They Go Boom' (although not available in colour) is really funny. Ollie has a cold and Stan is trying to cure it. The film ends with their inflatable mattress blowing up (Ollie attached it to the gas tap and left it on)!
A good choice for L&H ... Read More:

9.Monkey Business [1931] starring: Groucho Marx, Harpo Marx, Chico Marx, Zeppo Marx, Rockliffe Fellowes

VHS : Monkey Business [1931]
Monkey Business" won't disappoint anyone who likes the Marx Brothers. It features a couple of extremely funny sequences, with the favorite probably being the 'Maurice Chevalier' scene. (As you watch that scene unfold, you start wondering how Harpo is going to play it, and it's quite clever when you find out.) Harpo has another fine scene when he gets tangled up in a puppet show. Zeppo gets a little more action than usual, and the others have some great moments, too. This one certainly should not be missed by any fan of Groucho and company.

VHS : Speak Easily [1932]
Though there are some parts of the movie that are a bit boring, the funny parts (mainly the ones where it involves Buster Keaton doing physical comedy), are incredibly hilarious and more than make up for the rest!

Though other Buster Keaton movies have more laughs, the ones to be had here are more intense and last longer (at least they do in the last part of the movie when Buster screws up the broadway play that he himself has financed).

It's not one of his best but it's still worth seeing for Buster's brilliant performance as a professor and just to hear him say the line: "Is this uncouth fellow bothering you?"(Or something like this. Don't remember exactly how it goes now but the way he says it is REALLY funny)!
