The story that really takes you in so strongly, from the first scene, that it makes time fly so fast. Story gives you hints all through the film but you never guess what really happens next. So clever story telling, it is rarely exsisting. Story developes well from plot point to plot point. At first you may think its just an ordinary love story, but life is never that black and white. Loving wife is so, in love, that it makes you suspicious, you smell the smoke but where's the fire. Stunning movie - easily the best American urban/police thriller I've seen to date! VERY stylish and often brutal, this hooks from start to finish. This movie has an unusually deep moral sense. It also has an unusual respect for each of its characters, including the Indians - and the jungle. I finally read the book a few years ago and loved it. The movie somehow was able to convey a similar feeling despite not being able to delve into the thoughts of the characters in the way that the book did. These are two closely related but fully independent works of art. It's rare to find a book and its movie that complement each other so well. Great writing on the one hand, great acting on the other. Because the Indians are treated with respect, even though they are clearly playing roles that fit perfectly into the movie, this movie seems to reveal more about them than any documentary I've ... what a great movie fast paced and funny from the start. i first saw this film when i was 11 years old and its still as funny today thanks to amazon for selling this plus other great titles.

If you liked Basic Instinct, you'll most definatly love Sliver. Sharon Stone plays Carly Norris a divorcee who is on the road back to an exciting life. She moves in to a new apartment building in New York which the locals call Slivers. On arrival, she finds that she looks very similar to a woman who had died in the same apartment months before. As she settles in she meets Zeke Hawkins (Alex Baldwin) the sexy man of the building whom she becomes very closely involved with and Jack Landsford (Tom Berenger) From the moment Carly moves in she is closley watched and as she gets closer to discovering the voyeur, she gets closer to her fantasies. Not the best work Sharon Stone has done, but it's a good film with good supporting cast!

These are the things about the movie that I would consider worthwhile: 1. Erika Eleniak - not only does she look amazing, she also seems to be nice to a fault. It is hard not to fall a little bit in love with her, not only because of who she is personally, but also because she adds to the story in such a convincing and meaningful way. It is hard not to wish she was the girl next door - just imagine that!! ;-) 2. The movie is quite funny. 3. It is a story about right and wrong, redemption, heart, love - stuff like that, and it tells the story in a really good way, and the actors all support that story in a good good way. 4.
