VHS : Ghost [1990]
This is without a doubt my favourite film of all time. I have watched it, it must be about a billion times and each time, without fail, the end scene leaves me with tears in my eyes. But as I watched it, I realized that there is more than one reason why Sam is murdered. I won't say anything in case I spoil the story for someone who hasn't seen this film, but, if you have this film on either DVD or video, watch it again and look VERY CLOSELY at Molly's actions towards the end. If you don't have this film, buy it and do the same.

VHS : The Pelican Brief [1994]
I've always loved this film, I had it on tape for years. It's a great story, intelligent, with superb acting. Other reviews say it all

What did annoy me was that the DVD is two-sided. You have to watch half the film, then turn the DVD over to watch the other half. This isn't going to be enough to irritate everybody but it really irrited me, and I really wouldn't have bought it if I'd known about the format.

I'm the lazy type who likes to settle down, surrounded by food, and not get up again until the film is finished and there's no food left. Like I said, not going to bother everybody but still worth knowing.

VHS : Kiss The Girls [1998]
Gripping account of a serial kidnapper/killer's predeliction for young women and the one that got away. Ashley Judd lights up the screen in every scene she apears in and acquits herself well as the young intern Kate McTiernan who managed to escape the clutches of the evil 'Cassanova'. Morgan Freeman and Cary Elwes make appearances but are sidelined to mere supporting actors in the mezmorising presence of Judd. What can I say? I am a huge Ashley Judd fan and in my eyes she can do no wong. Enjoy!

VHS : The Last Samurai [2004]
This is a movie event of epic proportions. This film has been my favourite film of all time since it appeared on DVD (i was unable to see it in the cinema cos i was too young).

It gives you a real feel of what traditional Japan was like and what went on there in the late 1800's. Also it commands a strong moral and it gets its message across in many different ways.

Although it can be quite sad at times, it has some great acting, fantastic scenery and possibly one of the best film storylines i have ever seen in my life.

I'm not a big fan of Tome Cruise but he plays the part of Capt. Nathan Algren superbly, and really shows what the character feels and what he thinks of the samurai who turn from his enimies to his friends.

The title, the trailer and the subject matter (cloning) make you wanna see this film. Add to that the fact arnie is in it makes it all the better. HOWEVER, as many have pointed out already, it gently brushes over the real issues of cloning and romps on with the usual explosions, action, chessy lines and the one-man-against-the-system cliche.

It could have been soooo much better but as it is, its a good film by Arnie. Lets hope his final movie outing before politics takes over full-time is better.
