VHS : The Boyfriend [1971]
Where is the DVD release of this classic piece of Ken Russell camp ? It showed what a good actress Twiggy could be (where is the DVD of Madame Sousatzka ????) and is enormously indulgent and good fun. Please remaster the original director's cut and release it on DVD. Given the ridiculously high prices being asked for old ex-rental VHS tapes of this film, a DVD release sounds like it would be a profitable exercise.

VHS : Madame Sousatzka [1988]
This isn't really my kind of film, but I found myself enjoying it nonetheless- just a shame that the main character is played by Nabin Chowdry- a really over-rated child actor who thankfully disappeared from the acting scene completely after ruining this otherwise totally pleasant and quite thought-provoking flick. Twiggy and Shirley Maclaine are great, though.

VHS : Body Bags [1994]
This film introduces three short films that are tied together through John Carpenter himself, as he introduces three people that have died and tells of their fates.

The Good Story(ies): Easily the best story is the first, "Gas Station," directed by Carpenter himself. It tells of a woman's (Anne Draxter) first night on the job at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, run by Bill. (Robert Carradine) She is left alone and begins the usual daily activities inherent with a gas station: serving customers. When one stranger arrives asking for the bathroom, she obliges, and he goes to the bathroom. Another stranger arrives later, and since the first man is still in the bathroom, she becomes worried. She asks him to check the bathroom, and ... Read More:
