VHS : Poldark - Part 3 [1975]
The Poldark series is a must for everyone - not just those fans of historical drama.

It is a "soap" opera set two hundred years ago and like all good soaps, you'll feel part of it.

It is also a good weepy - so if you missed it the first time around, buy it now!

Interesting story, fun run-around, good to see the brig and sarah re-united, and victoria is great! Debbie Watling really excels as the older Victoria, and is given a lot better than she did in the series. Anyway. Maybe its just me.

VHS : Doctor Who - The Daemons [1971]
This is the best Jon Pertwee Doctor Who series you can can buy. Some of the special effects look dated now, but the brooding atmosphere and demonic creatures left an indelible mark on me as a 10 year old. Another reason for its excellence was one of the earliest appearances of the Master, who was marvellously played by Roger Delgado.

Sadly this still isn't available on DVD. However when it is eventually released it will hopefully include a documentary that was made in the early 1990's when the cast revisted the location the series was filmed at.
If you can get the video at a decent price its definetly worth getting, but I'm waiting for the DVD which will undoubtably be remastered and include the usual quota of commentaries and extras. ... Read More:

VHS : Doctor Who - Robot [1974]
"Robot" is among my favourite Doctor Who episodes of all time. Below I explain why:

1) "Robot" is an extraordinary showcase of Tom Baker's Doctor's personality and talents. Apart from the expected erratic behaviour during the first 10 minutes, the new Doctor's personality is well-cemented, vivid, witty, and devilishly clever. In fact, the new Doctor carries the story as well as anyone else involved in the story, especially because his clever trickery and scientific know-how in dealing with the robot help to progress the story in the first instance.

2) The story itself is thematically staple sci-fi which could only have been made more interesting by the unique talents of Terrance Dicks, Tom Baker et al. Whilst the theme of a ... Read More:
