I love this film, it was probably one of Julia's first ... but i just love it!!! I'm a sucker for anything with a happy ending, a bit chick flicky!! It always makes me wish i was there when i watch it too! It also restores your faith in men if you are going through one of those phases where they are just utter pigs ... Daisy thinks she has chosen one, but he proves her wrong in the most heart touching way. I've never been to Mystic, and it doesn't look like there is an awful lot there, but i'd love to go. I'd love to live somwhere where you can get fresh lobster all day everyday!! This is great movie, a great comedy and much more. This is not just another Whoopi Goldberg comedy but a tale of survival when the chips are down. The lacing of hard life lessons with humour makes this a must see by everyone who not only loves comedies but meaningful movies. To have the courage to stand up for yourself, face being knifed in the back, quit your job and build up a firm from nothing in a finance world of wall street dominated by men and even resort to inventing a fictitious male partner to stay in the game makes the Character played by WHOOOPI not only gutsy but a survivor. This film is so funny and also at the end very romantic. The chemistry betwwen Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey is really good and the acting is belivable. The story line is original and unique with parts that will make you laugh and parts that will make you want to hide under the cushion 'casue of the cringiness she causes to him. The story is basiclly about a girl who is a journalist and wants to write more serious stuff but her boss says that she can't, she comes up with an idea "how to lose a guy in 10 days", then he on the other hand agrees to a bet with someone that he can take someone that loves him to a party.
