VHS : Carry On Camping [1968]
this film isn't exactly what i would call a real classic. sure, it has all the usual actors but it doen't any humourous moments, like some of the other films in the series. The ending is just plain embarissing. it made me cringe.
watch this if you a fan.
My son adores this film, i haven't discovered why yet but i've been watching him very closely and i think that some of the scenes are a little to saturating for him to handle.

VHS : Carry On Cleo [1964]
Everyone seems to rate this film highly, but it is not the best of the 'Carry On's' by far. True it probably is the most lavish, and true, it contains one of the best one liners, in the often quoted 'Infamy, Infamy, they have all got it in for me', but it truly has little else to commend it. Of the historical romps 'Carry on Henry' is funnier, but for the true classics we have to turn to 'Carry on Screaming', Carry on Camping','Carry on up the Khyber', and 'Carry on Don't Lose Your Head', all of which are vastly superior.

clearly meant as a spoof on the "hammer" horror films, this is one of my favourite carry ons. the fact that sid james isn't in it does not matter, as harry h. corbett makes for a wonderful replacement as a police officer investigating the disappearances of young women in a local park. corbett's performance is a joy to behold. equally good in the supporting cast, are kenneth williams as the mad scientist, jim dale as the nervous boyfriend of one of the missing women and peter butterworth as corbett's clumsy assistant.
for this particular carry on, a period setting was created and it looks extremely well done.
one hiliarious scene, is when corbett and dale are sharing a double bed when a snake worms its way through. unaware of this, the two ... Read More:

VHS : Carry On Cabby [1963]
This is my personal favourite Carry On. It was also Hattie Jacques favourite as it contains a strong touch of feminism. Whatever it's a great laugh and a clever plot full of side plots and corny love interest which holds your attention. If you've seen "She Devil" with Roseanne Barr you'll find something familar here as the plot is based on Carry on Cabby!

5.Carry On Jack [1963] starring: Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Bernard Cribbins, Juliet Mills, Donald Houston

VHS : Carry On Jack [1963]
carry on jack doesnt feel like a carry on movie, the wit isnt constant and the naughtiness isnt really there,in terms of cast only kenny williams and charles hawtrey can be called legends of the series and jim dale who only appears for the guts of 5 minutes all in all i would estimate.
Bernie cribbins takes centre stage,he is ok in the few carry ons that he starred in but always looks awkward and this reflected that he never got to star in more.
This is however the first period drama and the first time the cast got to dress up but this isnt a great and memorable film and few scenes would ever make a best off,the regulars try but they know that they are on a sinking ship of a movie, they know and this is rightly regarded as a mistake in the carry on ... VHS : Carry On Behind [1975]
This film is often quoted as being an example of the decline of the Carry On series during the later years. Sid James was no longer a part of the series etc. However for me this is up there with the very best. This represents the last we may ever see of Great British Seaside Humour. It's all harmless fun and the cast are fantastic. In todays world filled with souless films lacking real characters and full of violence, this is a nostalgic treat and a great laugh. They don't make em like they used to! Kenneth Connor's seduction scene as the randy Major is one of the funniest scene's you'll see in a Carry On Film. Genius!

7.Big Job, The / Watch Your Stern [1965] starring: Kenneth Connor, Eric Barker, Leslie Phillips, Joan Sims, Noel Purcell

VHS : Big Job, The / Watch Your Stern [1965]
Watch your Stern, could be a Carry Film. It has many of the regulars in, i.e. Kenneth Connor (who is outstanding!), Joan Sims, Sidney James etc.

Well worth buying if like me you enjoy a good British Comedy. Being in black and white this film has an 'atmosphere' that a colour versin would not.

VHS : Carry On Columbus [1992]
Are the people planning on making Carry On London totally potty ? Modernising the Carry On's by bringing in a load of new comics & actors while making things too lewd with a barrage of single - entendres did not work in 1992 and for that reason will fail in 2008 . Julian Clary , Sara Crowe , Rik Mayell , Martin Clunes , Maureen Lipman , Richard Wilson , Alexi Sayle and Nigel Planner are just not the Carry On team . They have not the skills of people like Kenneth Williams , Hattie Jacques , Joan Sims , Bernard Bresslaw , Kenneth Connor , Sid James , Charles Hawtry & Peter Butterworth needed to play this kind of comedy . The scripting is feeble as Dave Freeman is not the writer that Talbot Rothwell was and Mr Freeman was not given enough time which explains why Carry ... Read More:

VHS : Carry On Abroad / Carry On England [1973]
Although most people regard carry on england as inferior to many of the other films in the series, i think, although the jokes are of a low quality, and many of the regualrs are missing, that the film still delivers. Kenneth connor carries it along nicely, with a nice touch by wondosr davis. well worth a view. Carry On abroad on the other hand is one of the jewels in the crown of the carry on films, I couldnt recommend this film any more. Its very funny, the jokes come fairly thick and fast and this film has most, if not ALL of the regulars and semi regulars, although it is the last film for charles hawtry and it is a shame that he only has a small part in this one, but anyway the film is an absolute gem, so do buy it, you will enjoy it

VHS : Carry On Cowboy [1966]
Following the International success of the hilarious classic, Carry On Cleo (1964), Gerald Thomas and Peter Rogers decided another parody was what was need to keep the series vital and alive. Written by Talbot Rothwell, the team came up with another one of their very best entries in the series with Carry On Cowboy (1965).

There was always a loose structure to the plot in most Carry On films but with this one, its far more concentrated, with a surprisingly gritty, hard-edged realism behind the laughs. The action is set in the heart of Stodge City which lies in the heart of the Wild West where the notorious Rumpo Kid (Sid James) and his gang are striking fear into all the residents of the local community. Desperate to bring his deadly and violent reign to an end, Judge ... Read More:
