VHS : Doctor Who - The Curse Of Fatal Death [1999]
Well fellow Doctor fans, it's all there. The crashing synthesisers. The maniacal laughter. The bad sets. The corridors. The plot twists. The Master. The Daleks. The drama. The tension! This little effort is a gem that the Doctor would wear proudly, and better still its all in a good cause. A loving satire that will have every true fan rolling on the floor. A magnificent tribute to a genre that will hopefully never die...I won't spoil it by telling you the end, but let me just say that Joanna Lumley gets my vote. As for the rest of the tape, its devoted to Doctor sketches by other greats of British comedy, and its just as good. French and Saunders were clearly connoisseurs. Highly recommended.

VHS : The Borrowers [1992]
Having watched this both when it originally aired and more recently with my niece and nephews I think The Borrowers is still one of the best Children's adaptations ever made. It has adventure, excitment and romance and most people I know still rate this programme very highly. All I can say is if you haven't seen this, buy it. May be worth waiting until it comes out on DVD though.

VHS : Loch Ness [1996]
We loved this movie. We are going on holiday to Scotland and thought it would be a good idea to get a taste for the area that we are going to. The scenery in the film is superb and we have watched the film a couple of times since obtaining it. Its the kind of film you never tire of.

Of course the Loch Ness Monster story is a good one to adapt to a movie and you are pulled along with curiosity throughout the film - so wanting, really, for a monster to be found and of course the viewer is not disappointed.

We brought the video, mainly to find out more about the location, but we were touched by the storyline and its characters. The only sad thing is that most of the Scottish characters who take part in the movie are initially ... Read More:

This is a fabulous film. The production is rather sterile in the sense that the special effects are mostly computer morphing and hence it lacks the gothic surreal toy box feel of Alice by Jan or the BBC sixties version of the Wonderland book with Gielgud, et al. Kate Beckinsale is however a feast for the eyes, and Ian Holm as the White Knight is superb. There are some fine performances here from very fine actors such as Sian Phillips and I might add Steve Coogan. However, as I bought this recently for only 6.00 I find the overpriced collector wolves who are charging exhorbitant fees on here should be reprimanded. This really is far too much for a fine film. Get real and buyers be careful.

VHS : Spitting Image - The Best Of - Is Nothing Sacred? [1984]
This SI video is hillarious! It features (Mostly)the best bits of "Spitting Image". I laughed all the way through with most of the skits and the caricatures (Like John Mayjor) Are also Hillarious! The musical numbers ROCK!! Like the Queen singing a pop song about her self and a punk group mixing in and out with pop. The only complaint is that most of the political skits rareley feature Maggie! (Because It was released in 1992) A must for fans of comedy and puppets

VHS : Bring Me The Head Of Mavis Davis [1998]
Jane Horrocks plays Marla Dorlan aka Mavis Davis, a fledgling pop star recruited by Marty Star (Rik Mayall), who soars to micro stardom on the back of his managerial skills. Star, failing to make money to pay back his debts decides to kill Mavis and cut his losses hiring an incompetent assain. Very humourous and a tribute to Mayall and Horrocks acting abilities with what is a fairly thin plot and script. Definatly a watch once film as there was not really the substance for a second viewing but certainly worth seeing if you get the chance.
