Nothing special to add to all the other ambivalent encomia already shovelled onto this mess of a film. Lots of good ingredients that add up to nothing but unintended laughs. Fast cars, explosions, naked chicks for the guys, naked Swayze for the girls (and for Swayze himself), and of course, superb fight sequences. The story and the total absence of police are simply ludicrous. Funny thing is, when Dalton's bouncer-mentor turns up to help, about halfway through the movie, he's so much cooler than Dalton you want to skip the plot and just tag along with him. An opportunity wasted. Definitely one to put with other films you reckon are good because they're bad.

This is not a bad thriller, but it probably appeals mainly to fans of James Spader. It is, after all, the only one of his films in which he plays two characters. (Yes, twins. Well guessed!) He is marginally better as Rick. As John, he sounds far too casual and even arrogant when asking his boss not to sack him. As Rick, however, he seems somewhat awkward during some of the fighting. It is not clear why. His characters have been getting into fights since "Endless Love", and he is usually convincing in such scenes. ultra realistic boxing scenes and the gritty world of underground prize-fifgthing are excellently potrayed in this fascinating film. forgive the token love interest and youve got a great film. Great performances allround- (whatever happened to Rowdy Herrington?) and supporting cast including herringtons best friend and fellow fighter who i dont know the name of!. Nitty, Gritty realistic fight film.
