I have thoroughly enjoyed this set of video tapes. Delia presents everything in straight forward simple terms. It is not only for getting instructions on cooking but it's also good for entertainment.

As its name implies, this is a collection of Delia's programmes on how to cook the basics. If you are a beginner, this video would be of great help (especially if you also have her cookbook and are unsure about some of the terms used). However, her style of presentation is a bit boring . It is alright if you sit through one programme at a time. However, you would probably lose interest if you try to sit through the whole video at one go.

This video is very useful for those who like Delia's straightforward, no-nonsense approach. Particularly useful when used in conjunction with her Winter Collection book, the video sleeve provides a program list with the recipes shown in each program. Also, this list shows how far into the video each recipe is, allowing you to use your video's minute counter to find Delia showing you how it's done, without having to search back and forward using the rewind/fast-forward buttons. Further, the list of recipes on the video gives you the corresponding page number in the book, so the two can interact easily. Since returning home, missed watching Rick on TV. Remembered my student days wishing we had oysters and prawns and crabs. Yum! Unbelievable, but must have watched the video 5 times at least! When there's nothing good on TV, I put on the vid. Had some fresh crab meat? Put on the video. Wished I was in Cornwall, having the hot seafood platter. For seafood lovers, this is THE video to watch.

I am a Gary Rhodes fan and I was overjoyed to see that this video was available. Was I disappointed!! There was no logical sequence to this tape. One minute Gary was sitting on a boat to go catch scallops and the next thing you know he was baking a cake! I know Gary is fond of cars and football but this was supposed to be a cookery video!!Definitely not worth purchasing.
