I had the tae-bo 1 tape and was getting a bit bored so decided that i needed something more advanced. When I eventually managed to complete the 30 minute workout, I was unable to move my abs properly for 2 days- I really felt the pain. Anyway, no pain no gain , so if you want to get your abs in shape , I would recommend this. Although having said that , this workout is NOT for beginners.

I bought this last year, and just decided to review it after I came across it again whilst searching for more fitness videos. It really is the best fitness I've ever tried. It's tough at first, but it feels great as you get better. Afterwards, you feel like you've had a really good workout. I'd recommend this to anyone. It's not for the absolute beginner, so if you're just getting into exercise then I'd recommend something a little easier first. But it isn't aimed at the super-fit - if you look at the people in the video, they come in all different shapes, sizes and ages! Anyone can do it, and it's a great way to get fit, if you keep practising. A word of advice: Don't move on to Tae-bo Advanced until you're a pro at this ... Read More:

I got this DVD mainly because of the number of workouts on it. Previously I had only done Tae-bo:Future of Fitness and wanted a challenge and a new workout. I was pleasantly surprised. The basic workout was harder than before and got my heart racing. Shelley, his daughter and sidekick was there to offer a familiar face and cheerleading, plus the 8-count. As per usual the warm-up as cool downs aren't what they should be for such a demanding workout. The advanced workout was hard!!! Definitely not for a exercise or tae-bo newbie. The claim that tae-bo burns 600 calories an hour is not unfounded when you are working this hard. I hate exercise and after reading the reviews about Tae-Bo Gold I decided to get this tape and see how I liked it. I was feeling unfit and flabby. I have no regrets. I actually look forward to exercising now, there is something about Billy that is so motivating and that makes you smile!! I also bought Tae-Bo 1 and 2, but even thought their pace is faster I feel this workout is a more complete one that works out the whole body, so I'm alternating between the three, and having great fun!! I highly recommend Tae-Bo for those who find it hard to be motivated to exercise!!

I am a great fan of Billy Blanks, I have been a late-starter in working out, but find this video keeps you highly-charged and motivated. Once you have mastered the instructional workout which is available on some of his other videos, then this tape is well worth buying! Keeps the heart rate up and with continued use you will see the results both in toning,shape and general fitness.

this video/dvd is brilliant. i have been a fan of billy blanks for about 6 years, he helped me shift all of my post baby weight in a matter of weeks, like most people i tend to slack off with the exercise in the winter, just stick on the video and you notice results after the very first workout, this really encourages you to keep up with it, i have lost almost a stone in 4 weeks from doing the routines 5 days a week, bring on the summer! i recomend you have a selection of tae-bo videos, as sticking to the same one can get a bit boring. go on, get slim and full of energy. hate to sound like a advert but THANKS BILLY! i love my new body!

Absolutly fantastic video but NOT for the beginner. If you like Billy Blanks you will love this long and energetic workout. I have 2,3 and advanced and they are all well worth the money you can feel it working and see it within a very short time. Someone has comented that some reps are only on one side and this is usually the left as alot of people are right handed therefore your left side will be the weekest and he is strenghtening it up to match the right side. If you are left handed then try to reverse the routine wich is quite easy.

I do enjoy Tae Bo, however I recently got a little bored with the Tae Bo videos I had but felt inspired to do some more as the results you get from Tae Bo (IF you keep doing the tapes!!) are second to none! This is a great workout, with better music and a nice mixture of total body exercise! As it's split into sections you can choose which one's you do (for now I am sticking to the Basic part) but know that I will eventually be doing it all! If you like BB you'll love this!

I have a question about Tae Boe Get Ripped. I own the this DVD and I think it's fantastic. But on Amazon I see 2 versions of Tae Boe Get Ripped,one with Billy on the cover from 2002 and one with Shelly on the cover from 2003. Is there some diffrent between this 2 DVDs or they are the same?

As it says on the cover this is "the ultimate body workout for men and women." I bought this after deciding to do something about my expanding waistline, and it was mixture of dance and boxing that first attracted me to it. The fact that it is shot in a gym with 'normal' people taking part was an added bonus. I had become discouraged so many times by other videos that used 'perfect bodies' to demonstrate the moves. Billy Blanks is excellent at encouraging you to keep going even when you feel like collapsing in a heap. This workout greatly increased my fitness level with the added bonus of teaching some great self defence moves. If your still undecided just take the plunge, you will thank me later.
