VHS : Basil The Great Mouse Detective (Disney) [1986]
This was one of my favourite films as a child and still is today. In my opinion it is THE greatest Disney film and does not have the fame it deserves.

From beginning to end this is a delight to watch, mainly thanks to the wonderful Sherlock Holmes based characters and cunning twists in the plot. There is plenty to amuse both the child and the Holmes fan, from the narration of Dr Dawson, the loveableness of Toby, the evil schemes of the Napolean of Crime - Professor Ratigan , and of course the cunning disguises and eccentric genius of Basil himself, not to mention brief cameos from the human forms of Holmes and Watson. For the ardent Holmes fan there are a number of sneaky and less obvious references to the great human detective. The ... Read More:

VHS : Gummi Bears - Welcome To Gummi Glen
The gummi bears were a race of colourful bears who lived under the goungof Gummi glen. Their speciality brew was 'gummi-berry juice'. A concotionsupposedly comprising of gummi-berries and presumably an early version ofthe drug 'speed' because after a swig of it they could jump outstandinglyhigh and their reactions were twice as fast.
A moustasched knight andsome form of dragon wanted to steal the formula from them, for reasonsunknown. One assumes they too enjoyed jumping.
The gummis names and colours were: Cubby(pink), Sunny(yellow),Zummi(purple), Grummy(brown), Tummy(blue), Grammy (orange). There was alsoa cousin bear who was blue. Fans of him will be disappointed as he doesnot feature upon the episode's on this tape.

This was when Power Rangers was brilliant. Not Lightspeed Rescue, which was worse than Worzel Gummidge. Get this video and you will see why young boys like I was loved Power Rangers when it was very good. Nice Video, but not as good as the original Evil Green Ranger episodes. Brings back memories and how much fun you had watching it and playing with the toys (which I still have). Aren't i'm sad seeing i'm 16? Never mind. Anyway, a choice between Rugrats and this, go with this. Rugrats is worse than Rentaghost, whilst this is the best show ever. Get. It. Now.

VHS : Back To The Future Trilogy [1985]
A personal favourite of mine, I HIGHLY recommend this set, you get 3 dvds each containing digitally restored versions of these excellent movies. The bonus features for disc one are fairly impressive giving an excellent insight into part 1 with original interviews with the cast and crew and new ones with Michael J fox and Robert Zemeckis and co creator Bob Gale. Each movie has a fairly good documentary; other features include surprisingly enjoyable anecdotes that can be played during the movies, which appear like subtitles with a fun fact or trivia concerning the film. There are scarce deleted scenes virtually all of which come in their rough editing format. Based on the special features alone id say MAYBE get the 4-disc set. The 3 disc is great and ... Read More:

This video is a lot better than any of the movies and the three episodes havn't been on CITV for a while, so it's worth buying if you're a real Poke-fan. How about ... Read More:

VHS : Fireman Sam - 2 On 1 - The Hero Next Door / Lost Cat
My children love Fireman Sam. He's their favourite at the moment. If it's a rainy day or if I need some peace and quiet, I stick on Fireman Sam and I know that they're happy.

It's also a video that I like to watch with them (which is a bonus in itself). The characters make us all laugh and there are always the familiar phrases that we've come to know and love in each episode - "Norman!", "Now who needs the fire service?".

A good buy which will satisfy all members of the household and give hours of entertainment to our little darlings.
