Never read the books so I came with an open mind when watching this film. Like the book, the film is for children but can be enjoyed by adults.

Unfortuneatly this came out at the same time as the excellent 'Lord of the Rings' and it cant really compare with Tolkiens classic (same with the books really) but you can enjoy it on its own merit, especially if you havnt bother reading the novel first. If you have, then it could be an up hill struggle. However, the acting and the characters are enjoyable and the whole movie leaves you interested enough to watch the follow-up movies.

This is certainly a better film than some other recent fantasy films like Narnia, The Golden Compass, The Seeker (Dark is rising) and the truely ... Read More:

Eventhough this show is the winner of "The Best Live Act- MTV Europe Awards 1995", I think it's not an outstanding performance. Gary, Jason, Mark and Howard are not at all to blame for that though. They're very energetic, as usual, and the choreography is once again of a very high quality. However, sometimes it seems as though the microphones are not of the best quality. The voices do not come out very clear, sometimes making it hard to hear what the boys have to say. After a while you get used to it though and you'll find the performance very good. However, there is definitely something missing, or rather, someone... Robbie Williams. The show misses his strong voice and witty remarks. Songs like Everything Changes, although very well covered ... Read More:

I've found that kids always enjot new characters. That's what makes this video so good! Introducing Oliver, Toad and Bulgy the grumpy bus, who get into scrapes yet always make friends by the end of the day. Laughter and suspence from start to end, this is another great video for kids of all ages!

where do i start? i foolishly thought that this would somehow beas good as the first..how stupid was i? with its wooden acting and poor sets this mediocre, poorly acted/directed movie puts the truly wonderful first installment to shame. why can't people leave things as they are?? i guess due to the success of the first the directors wanted to perhaps make it more of a good thing, unfortunately 4 them they were wrong very wrong! As if the second wasnt bad enough they add insult to injury and do a third that bombed completely.
please if u are expecting this movie to be as charming and breath taking as the first u are sadly mistaken..i wouldnt waste ur money or time. it may well destroy your beleif in the movie business. i would give this movie an eighth ... Read More:

VHS : Little Dorrit - Part 1 [1990]
I have attended two films - and only two - where at the conclusion of the film the audience stood up and applauded. One was 'Lawrence of Arabia', the other was both parts of this interpretation of 'Little Dorrit'.
I appeal to those who can make it happen to release this magnificent film on DVD.
Little Dorrit is, in my opinion, not only The greatest novel that Dickens wrote (having a slight edge over Bleak house, Great Expectations, and Our Mutual Friend) but the greatest novel in the English language. It is assuredly a worthy competitor to the works of Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy and Flaubert.
It seems to me that although the film takes 'liberties' with the text and has major omissions the spirit of the book prevails. The idea of 'splitting' the ... Read More:

VHS : Mickey's Christmas Carol
The only real complaint about "Mickey's Christmas Carol" is that it only runs 25 minutes, which means the story gets a bit rushed. The rest, such as the idea that Goofy should play Marley, is just quibbling (Goofy has the height to make it work). On the plus side of the ledger is the on-point casting of Uncle Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer, Mickey Mouse as Bob Crachit, and Jiminy Cricket as the Ghost of Christmas Past. Historically "Mickey's Christmas Carol" was important for Disney because it was the first animated Mickey Mouse short in thirty years. Since these are the Disney characters inhabiting the familiar roles from "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, you end up with a winning combination of goofy humor and warm sentiments. However, you cannot help but ... Read More:

This is an excellent Video for Children from the ages 1 - 6, my newphew loved it, he has played it over and over again, well worth the money. And keeps him going for ages. Here is my review on the Video. Barney helps his friend BJ experience all the seasons of the year in this musical adventure featuring a host of new songs, including "The Raindrop Song," "Sledding, Sledding," "Winter's Wonderful" and "What a Baseball Day!" plus the all-time Barney favorite, "I Love You."

VHS : Joshua Jones - Horseplay [1992]
Joshua Jones is in my opinion just as good as the very famous Postman Pat and Fireman Sm yet he seems to go unrecognised.

"Follow that famous bargee Joshua Jones and his friends Fiona, Spanner and Fairport the dog, down the canal with four great stories"

The episodes are short but are filled with entertainment and enjoyment for everbody.

The characters are funny and create a good story to watch for everybody, especially the rather dumb and clumsy Spanner!

If you want a little light-hearted entertainment I recommend you opt for Joshua Jones.

"Joshua Jones
He can live whereever he goes".....very catchy theme tune!
