Brings back great memories watching this as a kid on rainy days, and it appeals to the new generation as its timeless, fantastic for new and old!

The only knock back is that no-one has had the sense to re-release on DVD, how many of us still have VCR's?

Back in the days when Pokemon was huge their was this proggramme, it was amazingly funny and you could see the presenters enjoyed what they were doing. it wouldnt have been as popular if pokemon wasn't on it, but even after pokemon finished people kept watching SMTV because they had relised how good it was compared to "Live & Kicking" and the "Saturday Show". This video is excellent and contains many histerical fits. I cannot reccomend it enough.

Watched this a few years back but couldn't get on with the animation style. It was bought as a present for my 4yo who loves it. On re-watching I didn't have the same animation prejudice simply because Tim Burton has made it more 'acceptable'. Shallow of me I know but there you go.
The Aunts are fantastic in the 'real-life' section although I couldn't get on with the boy. Pete Postlethwaite still gives me the creeps (although that's from the Sharpe TV series rather than this film).
In the animated section the bugs are all pretty good and the boy gets better.
The songs are OK but I didn't find them particularly catchy.

I must have been eleven years old when I first saw this film, and right from its oddly quirky (and gorgeous) opening music I was hooked.

The idea is not new, nor original. An experimental military robot goes wrong and escapes the institute at which it was built. The institute must then send personell to capture it before it causes any harm. Except that it's not going to cause any harm.

Strategic Artificially Intelligent Nuclear Transport (SAINT) No. 5 is inquisitive, thoughtful and totally unaware that it is a weapon. It thirsts desperately for knowledge, or 'input', and has a penchant for television re-runs, soon befriending Stephanie, a struggling young woman with a rampant habit of taking in stray animals.

The only My son needed for the set. He did not move out of his seat for the whole video. Excellent use of colours and one of the best ones. Plenty of learning material and does not repeat material as much as the newest video.

This film has a very similar feel to the first movie. It moves at a similar pace and the story is just as mediocre. Its not a bad film by any stretch of the imagination, in fact, when in a certain mood I can happily watch this movie and enjoy it. However, just like the first film, it is nothing special but just about keeps you interested enough to watch the next installment. I like fantasy and escapism movies and although this is not as good as the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy or as funny as 'stardust' ... it is still better than others such as the terrible Eragorn.

If you like the first film, even just a little, you should like this aswell. Slightly above average movie.
