This movie is an absolute must-see for anyone. It combines everything a classic should have - great actors (Audrey is tops and Peppard was never better), a great screenplay, a perfect score and New York (as usual) doing its best. The screenplay departs from the Capote's original but it does so in a way which makes the story work and which could be presented on the screen in 1961 - actually, the story is quite daring for the early 60s but you have to read between the lines every now and then to get it. Anyway, why shouldn't you reach for the original book once you are done watching? In short - How does it look? I must say I'm amazed. i thought this was going to be another typical teen film, boy i was wrong. its basically about the most popular boy in school gets dumped by his girlfriend, then he makes a bet with his friends that he can make anyone become the homecoming queen. of course his friends picks the most nerdy, gorky looking girl for the bet the rest is as it usually is, boy makes nerd popular and gorgeous and ends up falling in love with her. i would recommend this film to anyone i loved it buy its a must

Oh i love this film very much, it always has me in stitches. Comedy is quite hard to review, as it all depends on the individual and what him or her finds funny. But, come on, this is a classic - definitely a must-see. Cary Elwes is brilliant, playing the pompous slimy hero (more or less the same as his role as Westley in The Princess Bride) that you can't help but love (and laugh at). The supporting cast put forth top-notch performances and are perhaps more funny than the lead (most notably Roger Rees and Mark Blankfield). Basically, Mel Brooks is a comedy genius

This play is a myth in Shakespearean theater, maybe even a cult. When the play came out in 1967 it was acclaimed as a postmodern rewriting of our vision of the world. A tragedy like Hamlet's is here entirely captured through the eyes of the two secondary characters in the play, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. 'The Plank' is an absolute classic, funny, hilarious. I have watched it umpteen times and I still find myself lying on the floor, laughing my butts off when I watch it again. I like to show it to my students in English lesson to demonstrate 'British humour', and then I sit in my corner finding it ravingly funny. My (German) students are mostly mildly interested. 'The Plank' obviously is British humour that does not offer its virtues to German teenagers at once. At least I had an enjoyable lesson, ain't that important ? I am now ordering a new copy since my old one is wearing out.

An excellent plot line, side-splitting one-liners and brilliant acting. Enjoyable for all ages, heart warming and emotional, I don't think I will ever tire of this film.

I loved watching mr. bean which i could find sometimes on HBO when i was growing up in the US. I especially loved him and his teddy, and whenever he planned anything that never went right. I problem i have is that i've only found copies of this on U.S. Reg. 1 DVDs, does this even come on UK formats. I actually think I have another region coding when i bought it online somewhere because it doesn't play on my US DVD, so i think maybe its another region coding, but now i don't know what to do with the copy i have, if anyone is looking for it, i'd be glad to give it to you, since maybe you could play it and enjoy it.
