If you've never done pilates before i highly recommend you don't start with this tape, although its comforting to see someone who isn't your "typical" workout model, nothing is explained and you'll find yourself huffing and puffing slowly without much result

I enjoy this workout because it's never boring and the interval training is fantastic. Intially I had a bit of trouble with the moves only because I was completely uncoordinated and must have looked like a thrashing, sweaty spider. I kept up with it because it was just so enjoyable and the coordination came (unexpected bonus). I cannot recommend this highly enough. Susan Powter is great to watch and you never feel patronised just really encouraged to keep going. I love it. I've also never sweated so much in my life and not thought I was going to die. Very well balanced program.

VHS : Tai Chi For Over 55's
At the risk of sounding like a recording of the people above Im going to start but saying FORGET ABOUT THE AGE IN THE TITLE!!!.
Im not over 55 and I've just done the first hour of this video and thought it was wonderful. Actually Im 24 years old and I found this to be a great start to my day. I've only done the first hour but thats the beauty of this tape, its broken down into stages, each with a simple set of steps which anyone should be able to follow. You can stop at anytime and come back to where you left off or just start over. Theres even a great "warming up" part that I find some exercise videos are sadly lacking in. Even if you do have some trouble with the movements they are all repeated in such a way as to help with learning ... Read More:

I decided to purchase this video because of the excellent reviews on Amazon, and I am glad I did! This video is FUN FUN FUN and the music is good too! If you love aerobics and are quite advanced this is the video for you. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this for the beginner because it is high impact. It may take a little time to get used to the choreography, but once you do it will be worth it! Kari Anderson is a great instructor because she is enthusiastic without being over the top. This workout is so good I will be getting another of her videos shortly. On a final note ''Sweat express'' really does make you sweat!

The exercises on this VHS have pulled me back from agonising pain many times. They are well explained, as well as giving you a bit of intro anatomy of the spine. The music that plays in the background needs to be purged out of your system later. But the feeling after completing the exercises is fantastic.
I am back looking to buy a new copy as I have run mine into the ground...VHS. Love to get a digital copy

This video is split into different lengthed sections, so you can choose the one that's best for you.
Because it is presented by an athlete, you feel more comfortable than if it was some ex big brother housemate, because the presenter knows what she's talking about.
The exercises arent too difficult, but you still get a good workout. Definatley worth a try.

VHS : Yoga - Basic Yoga For Today [1995]
This is good for beginners. But it doesn't have enough real meat to it. Also, it seems that at times the pauses during the stretches are long enough for someone watching to go through the stretch effectively. It's ok if you don't mind breaking your concentration and pausing the tape. But the whole point of yoga is to let your mind relax and to concentrate on the areas you are working. You can't exactly do this with one finger on the pause button of your VHS remote!
