I'm an averagely enthusiastic fan of Pertwee/Manning but this was soooo dull. I fell asleep (literally) the first time I tried to watch this and gave up the second. It seems the Green Death is coming out on DVD soon. Wait for that, it's a far better effort if you can get past Jo wanting to marry the idiot at the end.

VHS : Miss Marple - Murder At The Gallop [1963]

Margaret Rutherford - the original Miss Marple investigates yet another murder.

'Murder At The Gallop' has a host of stars and includes the usual suspense. Also features her 'lovely' real-life husband (how did she get him?) Stringer Davis, who's agility (particularly on the dance floor) is more than a match for the energetic Rutherford!

A great performance here from Dame Flora Robson, and some humorous moments, including an entertaining scene when Rutherford and her husband do 'The Twist' on the dance floor, and out-do all the young things!

Entertaining stuff!

...Rutger Hauer plays a seriously on-the-edge cop who lives on coffee and chocolate (and BIG guns). Having had one partner disappear while searching for a grisly serial murderer who then vanished, he is given as a replacement one Dick Durkin when the murders start again 12 months later.

Dick is a clean living ex-college graduate who runs every morning, and then has sex with his girlfriend, (except Sunday, when he skips the run!)

Hauer's character was clawed by the killer, and this has created a link, where Hauer can 'sense' when and where the next murder is going to happen. It is this that has put him on the edge, and made him a laughing stock amongst fellow officers.

There are some great scenes, especially the 'conversion' ... Read More:

This has been slated by some reviewers and each is entitled to their opinion. Mine is that this is a worthwhile addition to the X Files, no better than the best and no worse than the worst.

The series itself can't have every episode mind blowing even though the series is a true classic.

If you are an X files fan, then you need this if only because you are an X files fan.

VHS : Doctor Who - Terminus [1983]
Peter Davison's second season as the Doctor really fails to impress, and this is proof of that. After the drab story before this (mawdryn undead) we are given another dull runaround (or rather walk and crawlaround) in yet more corridors in yet another spaceship. Yawn. The fact that these corridors and rooms are deliberatley grey and faceless hardly adds to the excitement of this improbable and unconvincing story. The acting throughout is wooden (most notably Liza Goddard as the spaceship raider) and the scaffolding and plastic sheeting that represents terminus has to be one of the production team's less successful attempts at conjuring up an alien setting. It is, of course, impossible to take the Garm seriously. And the shock revelation that the engines of this boring ... Read More:

VHS : Doctor Who - The Five Doctors [1983]
This episode is one of those rare occasions where the then current doctor meets his previous selves. This time its Peter Davison(the 5th doctor)meeting with his other selves.Sadly William Hartnell (the 1st doctor)had passed away by the time this was made,so another actor takes his place. He is no Hartnell, but is adequate .Patrick Troughton(the 2nd doctor)and Jon pertwee reprise their roles with aplomb. The Brigadier puts in an appearance and is his usual self.Unfortunately Tom Baker-the 4th,and best doctor-is only in it for 2 minutes, and doesnt get to meet any of his alter egos.He would have made this episode even better. There is very little plot here, but there are some great scenes involving the daleks, the cybermen, the master and of course, the 5 doctors.
