VHS : The Pirate [1948]
I first saw this film when I was a girl, and vividly remember Gene Kelly swinging from balcony to balcony, looking extremely fit and attractive! The whole of the film takes you away to another, far-off world, and you can forget modern life for a while. I absolutely love it and bought 3 copies for friends and family when it became available on vhs. I highly recommend it to anyone who is tired of the modern day violence and swearing in most films these days, as a wonderful light-hearted story which will whisk you away for a couple of hours of pure entertainment and bliss!

VHS : Mariah Carey - The First Vision [1990]
Mariah's first video release gives a glimpse into what was going to make her the biggest American star of the nineties. "Love Takes Time" and "Vision Of Love" show that she (along with song-writing partner Ben Margulies) already had the ability to write classic ballads while her unique multi-ranged voice speaks for itself.

With fewer songs to choose from than later videos there is a higher emphasis on the interview sections, which may not be to everyone's taste. The interviews succeed, however, in giving an interesting insight into Mariah's personality at the start of her career. Back then she seemed fresh and exuberant, with none of the jadedness she has sometimes exhibited since.

All the video clips are well directed but ... Read More:

VHS : U2 - The Unforgettable Fire Collection [1985]
The sheer energy of these 4 Irish lads is clear to see in this video. Such dedication to their craft. The videos for Bad and A Sort of Homecoming have been filmed during live performances, when this band really shines. And the making of the Unforgettable Fire album during their time at Slane Castle is really interesting. Although made in 84/85 it is nice to see them again when they were very young and full of promise - A must for any U2 fan.

VHS : Prince - Lovesexy Live 1 [1989]
Prince was 30 when he made this, before all the "whatever his name is this week" silliness began. Following on from the critically acclaimed Sign O The Times tour, this is a permanent record of Prince at the very top of his game, with a pretty much unrivalled (and self-funded) world tour. Some of the live performances of songs seen here are actually superior, in my view, to the studio versions. The costumes, the dance routines, the stage design, the guitars, it's all here. To watch is to understand exactly why as an artist, Prince ruled the 80's.

VHS : S Club 7: Miami 7 - Tape 1 - Episodes 1 To 5
I bought this tape a month ago because I heard of the shows they made in Miami and L.A. I love their music and now after watching this video, I love their acting! They always have great adventures and jokes to tell. It's pure comedy with performances from S club 7 and their hits usually at the end of the episode. Over all, it can definintely make you laugh but needs a better script!

VHS : Heart-If Looks Could Kill [1987]
Tracks:- What About Love / Never / These Dreams / Alone / Who Will You Run To / There's The Girl.
Don't ever remember buying a Heart album despite their mega-stardom, but this toe-dip into their videos of the era is charming, rocky, and just about, up until 1988 at least, their 6 most Classic Tracks.
What more can you ask for?

VHS : By The Light Of The Silvery Moon [1952]
I love this film and first of the two films On Moonlight Bay (1951) with one of my favourite actresses and singers Doris Day.

I remember as a child watching this and loving every minute of it. I am now 42 years old and was not even born when it was released but have seen it on TV many times and have copies of them on Video. My Mum got me into Doris Day with her music and films but this and its sequel are my favourites of hers and Mum's to.

It is a true family musical film about childhood, growing up, life in the early 19th Century USA and the sequel continues on with their lives and into World War 2 and beyond.

I ordered my copy and the first from Amazon USA as I could not wait for it to become available on Region 2 DVD. ... Read More:
